[..] blizzcon 2018 what an emotional rollercoaster that was now since i asked the question a lot of people have been asking me to kind of put together my thoughts on blizzcon 2018 and thats kind of exactly what i aim to do in this video so without further ado lets get into it hi lord fluffy face of diablo 3 is ice curious i see a lot of mechanics that we kind of been begging for in diablo 3 in this is there any plans to make this playable on pc or is this strictly mobile forever are there any yeah this the current plan is to be on mobile both android and ios we dont have any plans at the moment to do pc did you guys not have phones yeah you guys so first and foremost i kind of want to get some context to the question itself so for you guys that dont know me im lord fluffy im a diablo 3 streamer ive been streaming diablo almost exclusively since season 3 season 4 ive been playing diablo 3 since vanilla without really ever taking a break i have countless hours sunk into diablo i dont even want to look at the number and ever since the release of the necromancer pack i have more or less been one of the top diablo streamers for quite some time now i actually had pretty low expectations going into blizzcon for the diablo franchise pretty much since season 12 we havent been seeing really any diablo content the most notable of those changes however has been the addition of themed seasons which for you guys dont know they basically just add a seasonal theme its been double goblins double bounty mattes nothing super innovative or game-changing pretty low-level changes that pretty much already existed in the game it didnt require any changes and i did more or less hype us up you know kind of right before the round three of blizzcon tickets went on sale brainy said this wed also like to let you know that the forge is here at wizard a burning hot and we have multiple diablo projects in the works some of them are going to take longer than others but we may have some things to show you later this year so of course everyone everyone thought that that was going to be a table 4 announcement theres no one i met at blizzcon back when that announcement was made that expected anything less than diablo 4 but of course as a lot of you guys know a couple weeks ago a blizzcon did kind of lower expectations and came out and said we know many of you are hoping for and good things come to those who wait but evil things take often longer so theyre basically in a nutshell telling us like theres no chance youre getting the elbow 4 so if you guys you know watch the podcast at all going into it i didnt really have the highest of expectations for the diablo franchise obviously a lot of people were hoping for diablo 2 remastered and i thought that that was in the realm of possibility but of course the one thing that didnt change after they lowered our expectations was the fact that diablo which we didnt know is the apple immortal yet diablo was following the opening ceremony and historically that has always meant that that game is getting the biggest announcement of the year period historically thats been 100 percent accurate every time so of course everyone still had really really high hopes theyre hoping for you know dt remastered hoping for diablo 3 content maybe an expansion or a character pack and honestly the community would joke about you know diablo pr or diablo mobile but im not sure that anyone actually expected that to be the case so you know fast forward its blizzcon day one we finally get inside drop a deuce key another diablo streamer actually saved the seats towards the front so we had you know really good spot but you know going into the day i was a little bit sour already you know people were tweeting at me like hey fluff what time are you gonna stream at blizzcon and im just kind of like what are you talking about and i guess that they had invited todds and tons of streamers to stream either you know diablo on switch or diablo mortal and of course i hadnt received any invites whatsoever so i was a little sour already because you know ive been streaming this game for a really long time im making guides for a really long time i have a pretty decent amount of reach for diablo and to not really get an invite its kind of like a really feels bad moment especially considering they invited a lot of streamers that really have nothing to do with diablo at all to streaming the game so i was already feeling kind of salty walking in but i still had like really really high hopes so now its really excited about you know the future of diablo and what we could expect because again most of us are expecting a really big announcement cuz it is the first game after the opening ceremony so were kind of hyped up were sitting there the classic game team comes out and so this would be the team that youre expecting the diablo 2 remastered announcement to come from and he was so vague leading up to the trailer i am honored to present the return of another titan be able to write we never paid any heat so immediately when i see this im not a huge blizzard fanboy i really dont play any game besides diablo and i see this and im like i dont really know whats going on here like what is that like im thinking the banners that they have in diablo like i thats the first thing that came to my head and then the voice kicks on right the voice actor from diablo 2 the dude in the prison cell so im like oh flock here we go boys d2 remastered and then it keeps going right and you see like the orc and the dude fighting and then im like wait a minute im like is that a paladin whats going on why would orcs be in diablo remastered and then this dude pops up obviously thats for crafts and im like man damn it so immediately im thinking okay theyre not going to master two games in one year so – yellow – remastered its absolutely out of the window but at the same time im like holy shed like theyre still gonna be a huge announcement coming for diablo and really the only thing thats left is diablo 3 and honestly as of diablo 3 player that was the one thing i wanted more than anything like yeah before is a certainty its gonna happen it doesnt really matter when for me its just its so far down the road that i cant even like think about it diablo 2 remastered itd have been really cool but honestly the game i play almost every day is diablo 3 so the content i want the most is diablo 3 and so im like wow we might actually get a full-fledged diablo 3 expansion i cant believe it im actually even more hyped after seeing the warcraft 3 reforged than i was before so then its diablos moment right wyatt chang comes up on stage and honestly before blizzcon i mean i had really no idea that wyatt chang even still worked for diablo or blizzard cuz honestly i havent seen wyatt chang since like quinn did an interview with him like two three years ago out of blues con i havent seen him since so im like okay hes been working on something juicy so he comes on and this is kind of all of us reacting to what happens next love so im psyched right hes like we love diablo im like cuz i lo diablo right but im like you know im all smiles right because im like because im honestly thinking diablo 3 expansion this has to be big right there i mean do ski already knows duke hes like a flocking mobile dudes and like it felt so unreal right cuz this is not what anyone wanted at all this i was totally and completely blindsided by this we would joke about a diablo br we would joke about diablo mobile no one expected it like no one wanted it so i was just like i mean you can see like the definition we would use the places a platform for a news tiamo nothing just defeated thats a defeated man that is a defeated man right there the game ive been playing since vanilla the game ive been playing for like the last year without any changes besides like tiny little seasonal themes is getting nothing were getting a mobile game that no one really wanted absolutely no one asked for and so like the things that are going through my head is just like as a diablo streamer like what do i do like are we still gonna play rat runs for another year or more because this mobile game was obviously in very early stages of development so thats not gonna be ready for at least a year or more unless this you know chinese company is like amazing at pushing out code and so am i what do we do now like whats there to look forward to now so im super livid like i am just like im almost trembling and people are always like oh man you look like youre about ready to cry in the video honestly im like trembling from rage like i am just so pissed off i didnt want to just immediately jump on this all trying to be like you know flock you guys flock your stupid game and i wanted to be open-minded because im not im not a journalist by any means im a diablo streamer im a diablo content creator but i wanted to keep an open mind for the people that might still be interested in this game so then they get to the diablo q&a right and i really didnt even have an idea of what i wanted to ask i just knew i wanted to be up there and i wanted to ask him something and i wanted to ask him something that would kind of portray how the pc people felt basically everyone at blizzcon felt about this game but even in my own head im thinking like should i say something just just like completely rude should i be a dick you know im sure the exact same thing that the red shirt guy was thinking in his head should i stick to the question that i told brandi i was gonna ask or should i completely go off the road and really tell him how i feel but again you know the interest of being open minded and you know not burning my bridges kind of really took over and you know i ended up sticking to the question i originally wanted to ask and all my question was you know obviously i of diablo on pc diablo is meant for pc and thats just plain and simple its always been on pc to me its not really meant for other platforms i dont like diablo on console im not excited about diablo on switch at all i played it while i was there and i was like grossed but if thats your thing im not sh1tting on it i just i really wanted to be able to play a new diablo game on the platform that i wanted to play it on of course i was curious i see a lot of mechanics that we kind of been begging for and so i yeah first i asked i see i didnt ask first i said okay i see a lot of elements that weve been begging for in diablo 3 and thats totally true you know something like ground effects like so very much so in the demo like when a mob was casting something that you shouldnt be in you would get kind of a notification on the ground of hey like dont stand in this and thats something that you know people have been really wanting in diablo 3 theres a lot of mechanics in diablo 3 that theres really no way to avoid them or no real way to know that theyre coming and that it feels bad it plays bad its bad design and so thats thats one of the things i was talking about the other thing i was talking about is like more involved skill mechanics so like in a demo you know you would cast meteor and it would bring up first it would bring up your aoe radius how far away you could cast meteor and then within that you would have like a smaller circle to kind of pick exactly where you wanted that meteor to fall and i think something like that in diablo would be amazing so imagine if you will not only you have to put like your set together your build together min max your stats get augmented and stuff like that be actually the aim your skills or you have to aim some skills but not all of them this is just a bit more skill based i felt it felt a lot more like like a moba game or you really have to like time your skills to get like maximum effectiveness out of them and stuff like that and that was something that i thought would be really cool and you see a lot of that from like lost ark lineage eternal you see like theres this new like swipe mechanic were like you swipe your mouse and like like a firewall will pop up where you swiped and just like really cool skill features like that and thats what i meant when i first said what i said then i go on and again my voice is kind of trembling and its not cuz im nervous because i dont have a problem talking in front of people but like i was so upset i was so upset im so mad that was really like just doing it good cuz in my head im like like i want to say a lot worse but im not gonna is there any plans and i didnt really have to add the forever that was kind of like my attempt i guess at a jab its like strictly mobile forever i dont want to be a total dick but i wanted to absolutely portray how disappointed i was and how disappointed i think i felt everyone was and you guys have to keep in mind when i went out there to ask my question i didnt think it would get the reaction that it did i didnt think that people would actually boo i didnt expect that whatsoever so i didnt go up there with the intention or the negative intention of causing controversy or any kind of uproar i just wanted to ask a question now generally curious about because i still and i know like emulators exist but its not like a true official experience so i was really generally curious if this would ever be brought to pc and i got a very official kind of way because you know its just a platform i want to play it on its a platform to everyone at blizzcon wanted to play on so i mean the question came from a good place and i tried to be as non negative as i could possibly be we dont have any plans at the moment to do pc so you know the boo happened which i didnt really expect and im kind of glad they didnt clip the camera back to me because like i was you know you look at my face strictly mobile forever im not a happy dude its kind of find zookas zanjeer a former diablo streamer he was kind of like in the control center and like so there had a camera pointing at me they had a camera point at why it changed so he could see both feeds and he he was like you just looked pissed off um and in his head hes like fluff dont ask the question dont do it so im you know im glad they didnt point it back to me because i didnt look super super know he like so a lot of people that saw this video were like oh my god hes talking to me right a lot of people made the reference to like imagine if like osman gold a wow player went up and asked a wow question and like they told him like cant you run this game or something on your machine and peopled be like people go crazy but why i wasnt talking to me like he was addressing the people that were booing like very very generalized statement the problem is that this didnt come off very well it wasnt well-received and of course it has become a meme on the internet now of course as you guys saw after the announcement was made it was very quiet like it was dead quiet theres no like whoo you know like people excited theres really not a lot theres a lot of stirring but not like in a positive im so excited kind of way more of like a everyones kind of like uneasy right and of course the infamous red shirt guy goes up there and he kind of just says exactly whats on his mind hey wondering is this an out of season april fools joke thats so hard to watch it makes me so uncomfortable but its not necessarily an unfair question thats certainly something i struggled with you know when i was in line so they would what happened was that someone would ask you what your question is they would do their best to answer it or if they didnt like it theyd make you step out of line so he obviously didnt tell them that was the question that he was going to ask and i did tell brandi whos on my side of the stadium i told her like i was gonna ask if its gonna be multi-platform and brandi was like im pretty sure its gonna be mobile only but if you want to ask your question anyways or if you want to let my answer shape what youre gonna ask go right ahead unless you didnt say get out of line get take out of here fluff and im actually kind of surprised because a lot of you guys might not know my channel or follow my stream but im not necessarily known for withholding my opinion and im not necessarily known for candy coding things so i was actually somewhat genuinely surprised that they didnt pull me out of line but at the same time is you know very happy they didnt red shirt guy asked his question and at this point like im already kind of leaving but i heard him say it and i heard the crowds reaction and its like oh man like what a disaster what a total disaster and so of course immediately after this you know people were going crazy on twitter people were going crazy on reddit people are going crazy on youtube now of course i dont have to tell you guys you know those of you who are home during this whole thing you know a lot of streamers were you know in uproar and obviously youtube was an uproar the amount of dislikes this thing has is absolutely insane i think i saw a post that said something where around 600000 dislikes were in total theyre also deleting negative comments those of you that stream or have been on twitch.tv knows that deleting or banning people it really only kind of empowers them or infuriates them even more so of course people are going to come back and continue to down vote maybe even make alternate accounts continued it down but post negative comments keep coming back to find new ways of posting negative comments vpn to post negative comments so its a really really poor business yeah people are gonna download it like theres nothing you can do about it man like just let it go now one of the things that we talked about a lot the day that it happened was had they released something else alongside diablo immortal do you think it wouldve been better received and the results seemed to be kind of overwhelmingly yes most people tend to think that if they said okay dt remastered plus weve got this new thing on the side you know to do alongside dt remastered or imagine they had diablo 3 content like a character pack or an exfoliation and then theyre like hey on the side weve got diablo immortal a new mobile game people would have been infinitely more receptive but the fact of the matter is this is all we got this is all we got and this is what no one wanted obviously the communitys gonna be super super upset and they were man and i had never been to a blues calm before so i didnt really know that like booing like just doesnt ever happen i had a blizzcon which is kind of crazy to me and the thing that this confuses the crap out of me is like diablo mortal is nowhere close to being done so why even announce it why not rearrange the schedule right like you dont have to keep diablo in the top spot actually if you made your announcement said hey you know pump the brakes on your expectations for diablo this year why wouldnt you just rearrange schedule to like reflect that why would you keep diablo in that top spot only to release a mobile game thats not even gonna be ready for a long time to count now on another like this was particularly hard to watch because like wyatt chang is a particularly nice guy he actually personally reached out to me before blizzcon made sure i was invited to like the community event that happens the night before for content creators when i was way to tell me he was a big fan of the podcast that we do big fan of the stream and throughout blizzcon i was given numerous opportunities to sit down and talk with wyatt chang so i just i mean i cant help feel bad for him because like one hes a super super nice guy and two i dont really know that you know all this decision-making and making the diablo immortal announcement at blizzcon we dont even know that that was really up to him you know what i mean so its like if it was like i guess he kind of deserves the backlash that he got ish but if its not it like it kind of sucks right now all that being said i dont i dont really want to cover my thoughts on double mortal in this video i actually played diablo immortal i would guess more than anyone probably did at blizzcon i went to deline like a bazillion times i played through every character class four or five times full clears you know taking as much time as i possibly could on each character and then even going further to try to like grind gear and find bugs and you know i was just often found myself just you know standing there for like thirty minutes and no one else came to the line because i really wanted to you know give it a fair chance and really cover it for you guys so i plan on doing that in a future video and really going in-depth into like my thoughts on the game how it played and even some insider information that i might have been able to have access to from either playing it for a really long time and of course having conversations with people that work at blizzard so were gonna do that in a future date i also actually had the opportunity to sit down with redshirt guy himself on stream yesterday and of course well be uploading that video as well currently its muted for some reason im in talks with twitch to try to because these so-called game journalists arent even gamers you all are annoying you dont even play games you just like to complain about bs like mario culturally appropriating mexican clothing or lara millions of people entitled or trolls just because theyre sharing their opinion on a beloved franchise like this guy did here with diablo want to know something else gaming is an expensive hobby and not everyone has thousands of dollars to spend some people can only buy a couple games a year games are $60 a flocking pop we pay for these games we pay for these services from these developers from these companies and i support the devs they work harder than most people in the entertainment industry but what developers and these companies and most importantly these dumb fake gaming journalists fail to understand is that we are keeping your lights on we are the reason that your games are successful we are the reason that games like diablo are popular and beloved we are the reason for everything you have and that is because you provided us with a product that was up to our standards and that we enjoyed imagine for a second that nintendo comes out with a trailer for the highly anticipated metroid prime 4 and says its only for ios or android its a mobile game only and its never coming to the switch the backlash that would receive would be astronomical from the pissed-off fanbase and youre gonna sit there and tell me and look at me square in the face and tell me im entitled if i get pissed the flock off that this that metroid prime for would go mobile youve got to be flocking kidding me youre out of your mind of course devs can create whatever in the hell they want but understand that you have a fanbase of dedicated players who are on one dedicated platform and they have been there for years decades even supporting whatever you have created and they expect a certain quality and standard and consistency of that product if you stray away from that be prepared for at the very least to have some opinions and criticisms thrown your way these games arent free why are you acting like these games dont cost money why do you act like we all dont have lives we need time for bills we need pay for and families we need to feed we dont want to pay for a shed product or a product we dont want or want to spend hours on for example if i go to a supermarket that ive been ordering white bread from for years and they all of a sudden get rid of white bread forever and im like is this a joke wheres the white bread and they go well hey we have some pumpernickel dont you have a mouth who cares if its not what youve been ordering for years im going to complain about that and if they wont give me what i expect im taking my business elsewhere thats what we did with star wars battlefront – thats what we did with battlefield 5 thats what we are doing with diablo immortal and this is what were going to keep doing for the rest of time until you developers and companies understand and realize that you forgot who your real bosses are its not your managers your share hold or whoever has stock in your company or whoever your investors are its the consumer we the consumer pay your salary we pay for your houses we pay for your cars your food your everything you are nothing without us your gains are nothing without us what the flock is a game without the gamer the only thing you all should be afraid of is us and it sucks that there is still a ton of gamers who dont realize how much power they have with their wallets we can shut you down we are your biggest fear and we are what keeps you up at night in a cold sweat because you know deep down and im talking to you ea activision all you corporate suits all the way up to at the top deep down you know that if we dont keep coming back with an open wallet youre out of a job so like any other form of entertainment we will keep doing what we are doing keeping you guys in check we are getting more and more woke we arent children anymore we are not going to fall for your shed anymore like pride an accomplishment or player choice we are done with your bs we are gamers we dont want games that are made with greedy intentions we want to play games that are made with passion with dedication love and attention and i know there are still companies and developers out there who strive to prove this to us every day that they are still out there and they have a passion to show us a story to tell or a creation for us to enjoy gangs like a hat in time god of war spiderman breath of the wild red dead to horizon zero dawn so much more these games every single one of them proved to us all the time that there is still developers out there who are true gamers true gamers who want to create and put fun over the money put fun over microtransactions loot boxes and other bs and these games and these developers efforts to bring them to life will continuously be commended and games that are putting great first will continue to be condemned i never want to hear that we are entitled ever again not from a fake journalist not from a fake gaming journalist not from a corporate suit because we are far from entitled it is you in fact who are entitled you all believe youre so entitled to our hard-earned money that you think you can do whatever you want implement whatever kind of money grubbing skiing in your games that you want that you can implement whatever shady tactics to get into our wallets and im gonna let you in on a little secret its not going to work for much longer every day we are pushing against all this crap more and more we want to see more effort in these games i believe very firmly that creativity fun and honesty will prevail games made with love and passion before greed will be the norm i believe were almost there we are standing up to you so please get back in line get back to your desk scrap whatever dumbass idea you had to come up with a way to squeeze us for every dollar [..] i know some people dont care they dont understand diablo some people might so diablo 3 came out in 2012 they created the auction house where you when you found items you could sell them and stuff like that huge backlash from the diablo fans although i liked it because im kind of like im a douche bag i enjoyed selling stuff to make money i was making money off the habla but i do love books you could sell it for real money yeah so in diablo 3 launched in 2012 for the first eight months they had a real money auction house wow if you found an item that was rare you could sell it i sold one i sold the hacks i found for 150 bucks it was all real money right to your bank account and those are the orange items right yeah they were like the the legendary orange item its like orange gold green when set items yeah so like all that shed right i made i made a hundreds of dollars on the game it was crazy i got flocking nuts i originally went in thinking i cant wait to play diablo its gonna be like diablo 2 or whatever and but instead i found what was fun was doing that but so didnt a lot of other people cuz everyone was using the auction house rather than searching for gear like the game is about grinding for gear to find just farming shed yeah youre just flockin farming to sell it youre not even label people had jobs people hired people to farm for them oh yeah i did the asian bots were insane at that so you know so eight months to a year later they get rid of the auction house and everyone loves it you know theyre like happy right because theyre like now its a real game again and its weird because i was upset at the time but then i fell in love with the game as for a game again i reckon now i love i have a character i worked very hard on whatever and its obviously coming to the end its been – since 2012 everybodys waiting for them to announce diablo 4 or to announce a new character – reaper of souls maybe while we wait for diablo 4 and da-da-da-da-da and everyones joking the because blizzard doesnt usually give the habló a whole lot of love anymore and blizzards like ts and everybody like oh theres gonna be were gonna be doing some big diablo shed its gonna be nuts get out here whatever the flock and people like oh my god theyre gonna announce the habló for you know you know theyre gonna announce something big something huge gonna happen and the everybody was joking like what if they imagine if it was like just a flocking they announced a phone app or something and it was all microtransactions and everyones like oh my god dude that would be flocking a nightmare so all these hardcore flocking diablo fans are out out there and what did they do they announced an app game that looks like diablo 3 but worse on a phone the flocking crowd after they announced this the crowd went dead silent the whole like these are diablo fans right so this is like the dorkiest of the dorky right because while fans theres a lot of new wow players right theres a lot of wow players that started to know four or five and stuff like that but diablo dates theres a lot of a lot of the audience dates back to the 90s so these people are like hardcore pc gamer type people what i know weve been over this the diablo sales a diablo outsold word at world of warcraft then this was the game okay okay thats not what im saying im trying to say to you is like like 70% of the world world of warcraft online people now are like people that jumped on around the oh four zero fives but but diablo like trendy was yeah right a core of diablos players are still those people from the 90s its its just a huge diablo 2 is so big so when they announced this these people have like the thunder sticks you know like at the beginning of a star wars rally or something like that yeah these people got thunder sticks and theyre like and everything like the world of diablo is about to get even bigger and people and flocking they announced this as an app and the whole just place just dies and people just like what the video for the game on youtube has two hundred and seventy two thousand dislikes and seven thousand likes and and blizzard keeps taking down and re uploading the video to try to get rid of the dislikes see this is this is what these companies dont get is that we get when you do a money grab we understand that when id um yeah its really its like they think well theres no plans for diablo 4 i mean that was half the anger is just a major disappointment but also the fact that they built up this is like all we heard about for like they sold all these virtual [..] so following the announcement of diablo immortal a blizzcon a lot of people have asked to me to give an opinion on the situation and absolute pr nightmare following the games reveal and live q&a but first for those of you that arent aware of what diablo immortal is or why people are pissed off about it let me get you up to speed for several years fans of diablo havent had any big announcements in terms of new content for diablo 3 or news of diablo 4 or any news of remakes for diablo 1 or 2 for pc the last time anything substantial was released for diablo was the reaper of souls expansion for diablo 3 back in 2014 this led many people to believe that this was going to be the year where something big would be announced for diablo a blizzcon this idea was further backed up by the fact that there were a few articles in regards to blizzard posting job listings for an unannounced diablo project earlier this year and a few days before blizzcon a few fake blizzcon leaks said there would be a diablo 2 remastered announcement unfortunately what fans got wasnt a new or remastered diablo game for pc like they were hoping for but a mobile mmo a rpg diablo game for ios and android instead understandably the fans werent happy and the reception to this game is probably the most negative ive ever seen and if anything it just goes to show how out of touch blizzard are with their community i mean what the flock did they think was gonna happen the vast majority of fans that attended liske on our pc gamers theyre not interested in whats essentially a more sh1tty version of diablo 3 on mobile which will obviously have a clunkier controls a lower difficulty of content than a pc game and be riddled with microtransactions of course people are going to be pissed off and disappointed if thats the only announcement one of your supposed core franchises has had in the past four to five years personally i flocking hate mobile games other than old school runescape on mobile thats the only decent one i can think of id rather do nothing than play a mobile game but i do have to admit when i saw a bit of the gameplay from diablo immortal i did think to myself you know for a mobile game it looks decent in terms of gameplay and i think if blizzard had announced this alongside another deal project maybe a diablo remaster for pc or even the slightest hint the diablo 4 is in development then i think the community reception would be completely different maybe even slightly positive it seems to me that as blizzard has grown over the years into the mega company they are today their focus has shifted from how can we please fans and make incredible games – how can we please investors and to maintain unsustainable profit increases each year from a business point of view its a very smart idea for them to make diablo a mobile in fact i bet theyll make way more money by creating this mobile live service diablo game than they would from making diablo 4 simply because of how large the mobile market is and how popular mobile games are in china is depressing but when you look at the revenue mobile games make they can far surpass pc and console games costing a fraction of the price to make just look at league of legends in 2017 their worldwide revenue was 2.1 billion dollars yet in the same year a chinese knockoff version of league on mobile called arena of valor surpassed 3 billion dollars in a similar time frame with 96% of their revenue coming from the chinese market im sure if blizzard did make diablo 4 or older diablo remasters it would be insanely popular and make a crapload of money but as weve seen from the triple-a gaming industry time and time again a crapload of money just isnt the same as all of the money in the world which they constantly seem to be striving to make regardless of artistic integrity or respect from the audience that gave them their success in the first place the truth is that a brand new traditional diablo game on pc and consoles would be way harder to monetize than a mobile live service diablo game i think the most entertaining part of this sh1tshow came from the reaction of the crowd after the games announcement and blizzards attempt at damage control honestly watching the opening ceremony into q&a i felt so bad for watching for having to try and make the audience excited for this mobile game it just wasnt happening i think he was expecting roars of cheers and applause after the trailer but instead he got a few clubs and what id imagined to be many disappointed faces we want to use mobile devices as the platform for a new diablo game because nothing brings a family together like slaying demons diablo immortal [applause] [music] the two highlights of the diablo immortal q&a for me was the guy who asked if itd be available on pc and also the guy who asked if it was a late april fools joke is there any plans to make this play strictly mobile forever are there any yeah this the joke unfortunately nobody asked how aggressively blizzard will be monetizing this game of microtransactions which was the main thing i was interested in knowing something i think worth pointing out about this diablo immortal q&a is that the developers didnt have answers to a lot of fairly basic questions people had about the game such as a release date how does progression work how difficult will it be which leads me to believe that the games are a long way from release i just wonder why they decided to announce this game at blizzcon when its so far out rather than a smaller then maybe focused on mobile phones or something if theyre announcing diablo immortals so early on in development it makes me think that its highly likely that there arent currently any other diablo games in the works because anyone even remotely competent at marketing would know that this game is best announced alongside a diablo product that your core fanbase actually wants something else thats been talked about allies that blizzard seems to be contracting chinese internet company netties to make diablo immortal and a lot of people have pointed out that two of netties as previous mobile games crusaders of lights and endless of god look very similar in terms of user interface to the diablo immortal footage that was shown causing many people to claim that diablo immortal is essentially a reskin of a chinese diablo ripoff personally im not too sure if thats true when it comes to ui design it seems like there are a few differences and honestly i dont see any other way you could make an a rpg work on mobile without this kind of ui layout so be honest all mobile a rpgs look pretty similar anyway so my assumption would be that netties even used some kind of mobile a rpg template or took inspiration from what worked in their previous games but to me it does look a little bit more than just a reskin one of the major talking points of this controversy was how blizzard seems to be censoring criticism by hiding top comments on both the diablo immortal gameplay trailer and cinematic trailer even i posted a few comments that got removed of course this only made things worse and pissed people off even more further perpetuating this absolute pr nightmare they even uploaded separate unlisted versions of the cinematic and gameplay trailer on the battlenet launcher to try and escape the dislikes it didnt seem to work of course all of this didnt seem to stop a lot of the so-called gaming journalists from rushing to blizzards defense on twitter with one absolute flocking twats trying to twist the entire situation to be a sexism issue and toxic masculinity what a flockin bellend honestly whenever theres a controversy in gaming that gamers are generally pissed off about you always get these social justice retards trying to spin things and make it about politics gender and discrimination any form of negativity and criticism some gaming journalists find toxic you know whats more toxic allowing triple-a publishers to continue to design games purely around monetization gambling mechanics and pay2win bs without cooling them out on it negativity in gaming is a flocking good thing if you ask me if it wasnt for negativity and gaming communities coming together to say flock you to the suits at the top of these companies then nothing would ever change ea wouldnt have changed the loot boxes in star wars battlefront 2 world of warcraft classic wouldnt be in development old school runescape wouldnt exist if nobody spoke out and complained about the direction weve slowly been heading in the gaming industry over the past few years because of fear of being perceived as toxic wed have much worse and more aggressively monetized games out today than we already do so to all you toxic flockers out there on youtube and on the internet that actually complain about things you dont like about games or the games industry thank you what youre doing is better than pandering to triple-a publishers that already make more money than you could possibly perceive unlike some of the shields who consider themselves as games journalists other than that i was quite happy different viewpoints from different articles and stuff like that and i want to talk about that and i want to talk about the controversy around this game because i 100% side with the community about this game as a call of duty fan i can only imagine how pissed most of us would be since weve been waiting for modern warfare 2 remastered and diablo fans have even wanted remastered diablo games but i can only imagine how pissed the whole call of duty community would be if next year activision came on stage and said hey guys guess what were were mastering modern warfare 2 black ops 1 black ops 2 but heres the catch its not gonna be on console its not gonna be on pc you will be able to play for the first time these games on mobile not only would i not really be surprised if that happened but i would also be kind of pissed because i mean you might as well just poke them in the eye while youre at it and if youre blizzard you should have thought this through much better because diablo is a game that is primarily played on pc and then of course theres console players and stuff too if youre going to announce a new diablo game the very last thing you want to do is announce to a passionate pc community that theyre not getting a new diablo game as a matter of fact the only people who will be getting a new diablo game are mobile gamers and knowing how mobile gaming goes this isnt going to be any traditional diablo game or anything this is just going to be some sort of microtransaction farm for blizzard this all even culminated into a point where the crowd reacted by at the pan asking questions even asking if it was a april fools joke from blizzard which the community around him actually applauded which thats not a good sign if youre revealing a game and the worst thing honestly when i watched back on this clip and i look at it and i see number one how the community in this you know arena itself has reacted to the news by booing the people on stage the last thing you want to do is kind of shed on them and kind of poke at them because when everyone was talking and everything about it the guy on stage said and i quote do you guys not have phones i think the last thing you want to do when you announce a game to boos actually from a crowd of passionate players within that franchise is is to ask something like that dont you all have phones everybody has a goddamn television – but that doesnt mean that they want a tv built-in app diablo game you know this just wasnt the way to approach it on blizzards part and they really should have considered holding a mobile game at least beyond actually releasing a game on pc the community has reacted very very negatively it has become somewhat of a controversy in the gaming community after this all this happened because like i said diablo fans never wanted a mobile game there was no demand for a mobile game everyone was waiting on diablo for blizzard lets everyone know that this event will have some sort of diablo re you know related event going on inside of it and then they tell them that theres multiple diablo productions going on right now and then when everyone thinks theyre gonna get a diablo 4 game they just get this sh1tty mobile game that knowing blizzard will likely end up with some form of micro transactions that are either pay to win or just complete spam inside of the game and i cant blame people for being upset about it you know i cant blame people for tearing the subreddit apart i cant blame people for getting on social media to voice their concerns i cant blame the people in that event for asking such questions as is this an out of season april fools joke when something like this comes up when i first heard about this i didnt even know it was a mobile game i just heard diablo immortals coming out and people were pissed i was like well i havent ever played a diablo game that i can remember it doesnt really matter to me but then looking into this seeing that clip and seeing how blizzard has reacted in a very tone-deaf manner this is an example this is what people have been talking about this is highlighting a major issue in the gaming industry i just dont get how blizzard thinks that its appropriate to respond to all of this backlash with this rhetoric as if just because they have phones they have to play our mobile game you know after this happened there are now calls for boycotts there are petitions to get the game canceled theres accusations against blizzard for removing dislikes on the cinematic and gameplay trailers which have huge amounts of dislikes but then according to kotaku in this article i know i know its kotaku i know they the blizzcon executive producer actually admitted that they were expecting backlash but not to this degree and this is my point if you were expecting backlash and you knew that the community didnt want this why did you come on stage with this product i think that the community would have been much happier if you just came on stage and said look we have a mobile game coming out however we are going to have diablo 4 out before it there is another diablo game coming very soon but they didnt do that they came out on stage they announced this product no one wanted they got booed and then reacted probably in the worst way possible because i mean i understand you think backlash is coming but you dont react to that way to the people you know but another problem with the game that has been highlighted by some fans is that there have been art and assets and other things from previous diablo games cut and actually put into this mobile game however these are just accusations the people behind diablo have denied this theyve said that these different assets and stuff have been built from the ground up for this game something in this article though that i do want to talk about is it says and i quote the explosion of outrage has many on social media discussing the extent to which video game culture enables entitlement you know the whole thing about being consumer is that you are entitled okay you dont have to be a cunt you dont have to be an ass about things but you are entitled to the product that you want thats the beautiful thing about capitalism and competition is that you very clearly have something that you want youre entitled to you have the money youre the one buying it someone has to put up if no ones making the product you go make the product if the products being made other people are gonna make the product theres gonna be competition better products are made from that so the whole idea that video game culture enables entitlement is i feel like a little bit flawed but has some ground to it because thats just how we as consumers behave in the first place theres people who go into mcdonalds theyre entitled to food as well most of the time at least and then when they go in there and they dont have whatever they want or they dont get their food in time people are gonna act very very similar to how theyre acting now except theyre doing it in front of somebody theyre not really doing it in a reddit post or doing it in the crowd of some auditorium you know the video game culture does enable entitlement but so doesnt pretty much all markets because if there was no entitlement to want the product that you want and then to get it from somebody there wouldnt really be in my video talking about sonys crusade towards fanservice videogames ive talked about how the console market is dying at the moment in asia due to the rise of pc gaming and mobile gaming to gaming platforms that are cheaper more convenient and in some ways more advanced than its console counterparts at least the pcs for advanced i said in that video that the pc gaming market and the mobile gaming market are going toe-to-toe in terms of popularity and what do you know i was correct or at least in southeast asia i was correct now heres the thing that you need to be aware of and youre talking about a growing market like the mobile sure the mobile market is growing but the problem with that is the market is incredibly competitive people are probably only going to play one or two mobile games at most its going to be really difficult for people to switch into other mobile games unless if they got tired with their current favorite mobile games or if those mobile games are pulling off some really stupid moves with their business decisions or gameplay changes so when game developers are trying to capitalize it to the popularity of the mobile market they really need to understand the audiences that theyre going to attract when developing their games while mobile gaming is pretty broad in terms of his audiences you still need to have your own niche you still need to have a target audience who will definitely buy your game unfortunately this is a memo that none of the people at blizzard god blizzard if you guys dont know is the game company behind the habló starcraft warcraft its mmo counterpart and their most popular game as of late overwatch this gaming company is so big and popular that they have their own convention called blizzcon when they announce upcoming games and future content for already existing titles one of the games being announced for the future is the next installment of diablo titled diablo immortal now people have been really anticipating for years for another diablo game to come out but this trailer for diablo immortal wasnt really received well in fact i can safely say that it has an incredibly poor reception on both the gameplay trailer and a cinematic trailer why is that you might ask well its very simple actually this game is going to be for mobile you can get this game on google play and apples app store when its released so years and years of waiting for another property outlaw game and what the fans got instead is a very similar move that poll with command & conquer and this ladies and gentlemen highlights a massive misunderstanding and disconnect between the developers who developed this game and the audiences that they attract now heres the thing blizzard has developed a successful mobile game before and that is hearthstone hearthstone is very successful on mobile because its pretty much a direct port of the already successful pc version of the game a lot of people know hearthstone and even my friends play hearthstone in both mobile and pc but the reason why hearthstone is so popular in the mobile market is because its a port of the already successful pc version if diablo immortal is announced to be a pc game and a proper next installment for the diablo franchise i think people wouldnt have been angry about it but evidently you have tons and tons of people at blizzcon booing the developers the current plan is to be on mobile both android and ios we dont have any plans at the moment to do pc and then you have this guy being a hero that we all need at this point hey just was let me explain to them you built your fan base for this game mainly on the pc for the record i love the first two diablo games there are two good old pc games that i used to play in my notebook when i was in middle school because its an incredibly low spec game that can run on anything and its awesome diablo 3 was incredibly disappointing for me because the always online error seven bs and the game played that was just not as substantial that was at the year where people keep recommending me torchlight 2 as an alternative and my god i freaking love torchlight 2 its the diablo game that is better than the newer diablo game im not really like a huge fan of diablo but i do love their games and you can say that i am one of the many potential audiences for this game but i dont play mobile games the games i play on mobile are like i said nintendo ds games using an emulator like shin megami tensei straight journey or chrono trigger if i hear diablo i expect a proper pc dungeon crawling game and there is a market for that but there isnt a market for a diablo game on the mobile is there a market for a dungeon crawling game on mobile sure are theyre going to be interested in a diablo dungeon crawling game when they are too busy playing honor dungeon crawling games no and especially if the game that were talking about is pretty much a reskin of the other game from the same developer the mobile market right now is overpopulated its a really damn competitive market there are so many ideas being tried on mobile that you really need to be creative in order to pull off a successful mobile title piggybacking on the success of the diablo franchise is not going to work youre gonna piss off the fanbase and youre not gonna invite more people into your game oh you have is a diablo game on mobile which considering how diverse and creative double-bond gaming market really is right now its not a really good selling point and were not even getting to the micro transaction side i dont know how exploitative the micro transaction of this game will be in the ign article responded with this and theyre capable of top-tier gaming experiences okay just because mobile gaming is getting more more powerful doesnt mean that you should develop your next diablo game on mobile yes most if not all diablo fans or people who like diablo probably own a smartphone but they dont game on the smartphone and they certainly wont play a diablo game on the smartphone they want to play diablo game on pc sure the current smartphone has the technology to bring high-end games but youre making game for a fanbase that dont really plan the smartphone it shows a fundamental lack of understanding on the market that you are trying to hit trust me when i say that i know the mobile audiences very well and theyre way too busy playing other games when you release this one and best of all you dont have to trust me i think you all need a visual representation of peoples interest in this game this is a perfect visual representation look at that no seriously look at that look at the number of people who are interested to play this game this is an event full of people who are loyal fans of your product you make a game that deviates from their expectations and you have booing and people asking if this is an april fools joke and if theyre not doing that theyre not going to visit your booth you can try to defend this game as much as you want you can say that this game is designed to be a bit more mainstream were just following the current trend and if you dont like the game you dont have to play it but this antagonizing attitude will piss people off to the point where none of them are going to buy the game you already alienated your entire fan base so who else is gonna buy this game the market will decide in fact the market has already spoken zero interest in this game and you can just look at it through these sad and depressing pictures and now we get into the heartaches i mean good god the hotcakes are off the charts with this one heres a good example wow i mean wow call reed richards because i dont think he is capable of having this level reach do you know why people associate mobile games with women because they play very simple match three games like candy crush i have the data right here they dont associate women and mobile gaming with games like say mobile legends most of the women who play mobile games that i know of are playing very casual very simple mobile games also the people who bash mobile games are not bashing them because there are more women playing mobile games theyre bashing them because mobile games are not for their microtransactions pay2win bs that a lot of people dont get when playing full price games on more advanced gaming platforms mostly dont get that and mobile is just not a good platform to use to play more advanced type of games people prefer the comfort of the mouse and keyboard or the controller when playing certain video games especially when those games are more advanced in those platforms mobile games are surely getting more and more advanced but theyre not gonna be as advanced as their pc gaming or console gaming counterpart finally caught up in specs to the software thats being developed mobile is very much a viable platform for resource-intensive games like diablo ok one just because mobile games are capable of running more resource intensive games doesnt mean that you should make a diablo game on it and – you dont play diablo games on mobile you just dont gatekeeper to the franchise dude i can tell you for sure that women who play mobile games are not going to be interested with this one women who grew up playing diablo and loving diablo are not going to be interested with this one were giving out criticisms and telling developers why and how this game will fail but your response to our criticisms is oh youre just gatekeeping and preventing newcomers to come in i dont even get the logic behind this one but since no one in the development team are listening at all enjoy those empty booths oh my god like i said hearthstone is a trading card game that is successful on the pc and the reason why its successful on the mobile is because the mobile version is a direct port you are completely off if you compare the game to this diablo mobile game you might notice a little bit of trend when you go on twitter and find these really hot takes a lot of these verified users defending the new game are game journalists and industry insiders people who are supposed to represent the interest of the consumers but theyre not theyre there to shield theyre there to defend blizzard committing such lazy hack job of a game what makes it worse is that blizzard is a were of your criticisms they know about the ratio they know about the negative reception but instead of trying to fix the game theyre trying to hide any sorts of criticisms and even delete their videos or unlisted them and we upload it to reset the ratings as if thats going to work stop hiding from criticisms blizzard everyone is airing their comments on this everyone is making videos on this everyone is letting people know about their concerns the more and more you hide from it people will lose faith to you as a company theyre gonna move on from diablo to utter better dungeon crawling games to sum up can anyone blame diablo fans for being incredibly disrespectful towards blizzard or anyone who is responsible for this hack job of a game this product is downright insulting to the fans this product screams we dont care what [..] i want to take you guys in a little journey lets rewind to 2014 april the first web blizzard gleefully announced their new mobile game happy reaper an april fools joke diablo on the mobile where they rightfully take the piss out of mobile games sarcastically talking about features fast forward to 2018 blizzcon activision blizzard and ironically announces the latest addition to the diablo franchise a mobile game diablo immortal what happened and where did it all go so wrong if you think of being a little bit dramatic thats because i flocking am thats the point theres people on the internet going around effectively saying were all overreacting were getting just really mad at developers for no reason if you dont like a game dont play it and theyre missing the point so thats what im gonna try and articulate im gonna try and explain as to why blizzard messed this up so badly how they did it wrong and why everyones kind of like how i am a little bit not not too happy cuz im generally speaking a pretty happy guy but i mean this whole diablo situation couldnt have been done worse like theres the right way of doing things and theres a wrong way so lets go over what blizzard did wrong the status if you want a blueprint of how not to release a mobile game then look no further than electronic arts most recent mobile game release at e3 earlier on this year command & conquer rivals a downtrodden deprived fanbase having their game at that was in the process of being made cut had nothing since 2012 and then at e3 they say theyre going to be releasing a new command & conquer title and then electronic arts tries to force a mobile game down this diehard fan bases throat and as you can imagine people werent too happy you go to their official reveal trailer 62000 down votes to 2.9 karos is it sound familiar so i have fan base no game for some years greedy company trying to force some mobile mtx written bs down peoples throats and people arent too happy about it and after the announcement of this debauchery of the command & conquer franchise the ea chief design officer patrick soderlund has the audacity to say we need two respects mobile games just respect it this sounds familiar at all any of this any of this yeah its because diablo activision blizzard are literally doing the exact same flocking thing diablos audience is comprised of primarily pc gamers and has been for the last 20 years blizzcon its full of the most die-hard fans they literally get into a middle to most of them and fly to anaheim paying hundreds of dollars on hotel rooms hundreds of dollars on the tickets theyre the most hard-core blizzard fans diablo as a game the community is generally speaking pretty hardcore they have modes that are called high core not gonna be in the mobile game by the way now either blizzard is so far out of touch with their community that they thought this was going to go down well as the main event and the opening ceremony the main event on the main stage directly after it or disgusting money-grubbing greedy little investors just want to make a quick buck from the diablo ip and theyre gonna run blizzard into the flocking ground i really dont know what the better of the two options is hopefully all the feedback and the uproar and the outrage that the diablo community is causing make these parties wake up make them realize that were not happy with what theyre trying to force down our throats that they cant just announce nothing for many years and then be like heres a mobile game by the way give us money now you think blizzard couldnt make things any worse and youre wrong the people who are in control of the diablo youtube channel had to decided to take it upon themselves to basically start censoring people in the comments section you can just go i mean ive run a youtube channel its pretty easy you just click on a comment you dont like open the thing and your breasts allene i myself only ever deleted literal people just linking viruses but no theyre just straight-up deleting actual comments your boy here hes a hero red pill shark he says 14 times i have been deleted so i say again no king rules forever my son after a great 20 years and many unforgettable memories we part ways you changed blizzard youve changed so that yeah 14 times its been deleted and you might be thinking of just make this up no theres tons of people who have had their comments deleted like other youtubers posting comments on the diablo channel just having their completed you go to the social blade okay this is a scary thing you go to the social blade and you can track how many total comments have been posted on the video versus how many are currently there now as it stands at ty of at the time of making this video blizzard have removed twenty five thousand and forty six comments twenty five thousand i dont know if theyve got like some sort of moderation software going on there but no they do theyre specifically going out and censoring reasonable comments now people are just basically if you dont know i mean as a stream right this is like the first rule of streaming is if you dont like a behavior you subtly deal with it or you just you should ignore it right and then it kind of just goes away or it doesnt get worse the second you try and center people you just multiply the issue and now everyone is there and theyve just multiplied the problem that made it just so much worse for themselves and its just yeah hey blizzard delete this heres a scary part and im a little bit skeptical about this myself so if you go a little bit further and you look into these social bleh statistics of this video and social blade is extremely accurate site you can cross-reference and check with this website on whatever video you want go into exile blade comm check the use of videos and youll see that the numbers line up except for diablo the immortal trailer has a total social blade rating so the amount of times people uploaded and downloaded it is six hundred and two thousand times now if you look at the actual ratings on the video if you plus the dislikes and the lights together it adds up to four hundred and eleven thousand youll be wondering whats going on there thats a total of a hundred and ninety one thousand votes that effectively have just disappeared and the spooky part is the votes that have disappeared a lot up votes and down votes its just down votes so 191000 down votes have just vanished into thin air i myself being a skeptic in most things i am extremely skeptical and id like to think that im pretty flocking woke but im not im just a sperg i would think that either its a glitch with the system or some guy on the reddit you know diablo red its pretty toxic right now you know theres various forums out there where everyones just writing about diablo someone would have made some sort of a bot which creates accounts and down votes and then they would have subtracted the body the botted down votes right thats what i want in my head thats how i rationalize it but theres plenty of people on the forums and things saying blizzard working together with youtube blizzard of working together with google but i mean my question is if they were really working together and they were colluding in to try and make their video look better why not give it a positive ratio you know why not why not like at least get it to 50% its i mean theyve moved it like a fraction of a percent in terms of the rating right its basically done nothing i mean 191000 download says lockdown voice right but at the end of the day its still an abysmal rating and i dont think its just the skeptical part of me wants to believe that blizzard isnt going that low but you guys can make up your minds for that im kind of like on the fence here and i would like to believe that bliss arent doing that or theres no shifty thing with youtube because i dont ive never seen it anywhere else like if it was happening in other places and there was other videos where people are missing with the thing wouldnt justin bieber do that wouldnt like some of the big music companies pay for better ratings on this song so they you know how come its just blizzard that have they got like secret connection so we dont know about i dont know i like to take the templo hat off and think of the most obvious and reasonable solution which would be a bug this is probably the last major critical point i have and its the fact that blizzard are not making the game entirely themselves or at least acquiring the company and then building the game in america its affect us theyre working in partnership with a company called nittis her based in china and they make mobile games and if you look up the knit knees games its monka flocking yes look at this crusaders of light on steam what is this game relevant to you similar games ive played bless online pretty much the worst game i think ive ever flocking played i i mean it was terrible that was that was a terrible mmo i think blizzard i think wow i think diablo i think i dont think bless online okay then you look at the reviews for this crusaders of light game 50% all the reviews were positive like theyre making games that are sub pi which is just if youre gonna make a mobile game blizzard at least make it yourself or acquire the company thats going to make it like buy that shed thats clearly thats just a way that its like oh this is a loophole we can pay people in china its a lot cheaper and it just it just comes off as cheap and tacky and it just feel like this is like its just adding salt to the wound lets bless online regardless lets try and talk about how you do it right lets talk how would you make a mobile game which lets be honest here its inevitable theyve already saturated we are a blizzard were gonna be making more mobile games for the other ips its happening right mobile gaming is huge and we cant stop it but theres a right way of doing it and a wrong way of doing it so lets talk about a great example of how to do it right blizzard get your pen and your paper out and take some notes so earlier on this year yet again at e3 both easter the guys would make elder scrolls and fallout and all that other stuff who cares about the other games announced a new mobile game elder scrolls blades okay you could tell by the audience reaction people werent you know super happy about it you know very very similar to how they reacted to you know g hablo immortal initially very similar the crowd you know they werent like shouting out and cheering and stuff okay very similar audience okay you dont remember there hasnt been a just a normal like elder scrolls game come out since skyrim in 2012 its its like the parallels are insane okay this is like its like a perfect script for blizzard to follow it okay people werent too happy but after they announced the mobile game they then put on a trailer for elder scrolls 6 the new game they didnt specify win then it was just like just a panning shot over some mountains and they said elder scrolls 6 it was literally just a teaser but that basically tells me they know ok our audience clearly is the high core gamers right they dont just want some mobile game but theyre up we do want to go into the mobile market we want to show them that we havent just throwing them to the side and just completely ditch them and were just trying to cash in and get money with a mobile game looks for that i mean the dispensed mobile is theyre doing it for the money right lets be real here if youre trying to make a game right and you want it to be the best it possibly can be and you let really love making games youre going to do it on the platform that is the best and in my opinion that is a pc and i think thats on average i think people would have that same opinion right if youre trying to make the best possible game possible right its not on a mobile phone regardless they knew people wouldnt be too satisfied with just a mobile game they dont want to have the franchise force on a mobile phone and then you and thats why they announced ill just go six so now if you go to the trailer for the blades oh would you look at that 17 k up folks 3.1 k downloads people werent even that mad i guarantee you if blizzard had followed the same script and they had just announced the stupid mobile game for the habló right announce a stupid game and then just had instead of mountains put some flocking dungeons in there and shed some dead guys maybe and then diablo for coming soon instantly the outrage that people feel engaging just trying to force these money flocking making machines down our throat its all instantly its like oh cool we get a mobile game to mess around with whatever blizzard can go into the mobile market but they havent forgotten about us and they are making what we actually want the best possible diablo game it can be on the platform that we wanted on computers or whatever they can port it to consoles i dont care you get the idea and everything would have just gone down so much better now im gonna say some wild shed which might trigger a few people and actually make some people mad well see i dont think mobile games are necessarily always a bad thing and i think there was a place for mobile gaming especially with in blizzards realm i think they can make mobile games for the other eye piece and they could honestly be a good thing and a positive thing a great example is a supplementary mobile game that blizzard made for warcraft we control your garrison followers from your phone so while youre taking a shed you could send you guys on missions right before you woke up or before youre gonna go to sleep you could send you guys to missions i used the app religiously throughout legion and it was extremely convenient in really handy app and it was just a all-around actually felt kind of good right now you can take this one step further right you can take this one step further and take it to another level they could say pay in the enttec or hire some guys from the antic i dont know how this works but effectively they can make battle pet go what should it be like pokemon go where you walk you go catch pets okay these pets would then be synced to the main game from the supplementary mobile game so you go around you captain you capture like a squirrel okay you now have the squirrel in your main game vice versa and you could obviously get the scroll in the game without having to play the mobile app at all it would just be a supplemental thing you can do while youre out then youre doing stuff yeah well youre outside i know its concern right its crazy right you could do the same thing with diablo you could do the same thing with diablo you could basically allow people to play the diablo game for example and they could find something within the game which would then supplement the main game so say youve got some achievements in the game you unlock some cosmetic wings on your main game vice versa you could even go as far to say that if they can balance it correctly you could even farm keystones or farm you know like i dont know theyre gonna have rift keys in diablo 4 find something in the mobile game which would then transfer over to the actual game supplementing it and i feel like you can do that for so many of the other ips and they can actually just be a genuinely fun and cool experience if youve made it this far under the video youre the flippin man or woman or whatever whatever you identify as whats up everybody kinetic here today i need to read a bit i really dont like making videos like this its not my thing to be a drama channel but today has been one of the most shocking depressing disenchanting every other word you could align along that vein for me personally because while i i didnt have high expectations for blizzard and them announcing anything major for diablo ive been disappointed and let down too many times now from previous blizzcon waking up today and the very first thing that i see is that they have announced a mobile game a mobile only diablo game and were going to talk about that and specifically why people who dont understand this dont understand why theres so much drama so much hate so much anger they dont know what theyre talking about they dont play diablo they have been paying attention at all to whats been simmering now into a boiling point for all of these years and have no business telling us that we are ungrateful that were crybabies and stuff like that theres already at an article on mashable saying things like this and its just absurd now this might sound rich coming from me because i have promoted mobile games here on my channel and to me theres a very distinctive difference because its as ive said not that im hating on the fact that theyve got a mobile game but the fact that its the only thing that we have now as an update as fresh content if you will and im gonna talk about why ii you know even i suppose if there was another announcement its still pretty insulting so mobile games to me are fun bite-sized kind of fast food junk food that youre really not supposed to take seriously and isnt supposed to be a main part of your diet i consider mobile games to be low tier games made by low tier developers and theres nothing really wrong with that to me i enjoy and play a lot of mobile games for what theyre worth but blizzard is an established company for a very very long time and when they came out with diablo 3 and there was a lot of problems with diablo 3 and there was a lot of hate a lot of drama back then i defended the game quite a bit on the forums and social media and stuff talking about why i thought i could reason with blizzards decisions and why they did certain things like for example the real money trading auction house which was a big thing right people like wtf why is blue doing this oh they just trying to you know cash in on you know the the the market and stuff like that and i argued that i really believed that they were just trying to make a safer environment for trading like they said that they they were whether they were profiting off of that you know majorly i didnt think was the case but maybe they were making some profit but i believe their intentions to be true that they were trying to make things easier for them and for us in regards to trading but we all know how poorly that went down right so ive been defending the game ive defended blizzard not just because im a fanboy but just because i i tried to look at it from certain perspectives that were reasonable and logical but there is no reasonable view from looking at diablo immortal it is it is purely garbage like coming from and not even thats thats the thing – its not even coming from blizzard right this isnt even their game its their title right they given the rights to another company to make this game to all the people saying the diablo community is being unfair or disrespectful that were just being entitled and should be grateful learn the facts and get your thumb on the pulse of this community before you criticize us because this was a tipping point and its not our fault that you dont understand why weve been begging blizzard for years to do more for diablo a game franchise that they seem to barely care about while showering all of their other games with money and resources manpower to develop a near constant stream of updates and expansions look at overwatch look at world of warcraft or or even heroes of the storm for examples of games that just never like have a content drought seemingly at all you know ever you can expect a new expansion even when it does get kind of dry for example in world of warcraft you can expect an expansion to come now thats just not been the case for diablo especially diablo 3 year after year blizzcon after blizzcon weve gotten scraps or nothing at all and now they get on stage here in blizzcon 2018 and tell us that net es not blizzard is in charge of making this new game and on top of that its a mobile only game right the reaction from the crowd was totally justified at blizzcon when the guy asked is this mobile only are these mechanics these new gameplay features that theyre showing off with characters moba only and they said yes that they have no plans for pc and there was booing which is incredibly rare to hear a booing crowd is there any plans to make this playable on pc or is this strictly mobile forever are there any yeah this the current plan is to be on mobile both android and ios we dont have any lands a moment to do pc did you guys not have phones yeah you guys and that should tell you something that this isnt just crybaby entitlement and ungrateful this this is a seriously sour taste and everybodys mouth now to the point that it became booing you know bethesda did it right when they announced what was it fallout shelter they did it not on its own right they did it alongside another fallout title its like wow were getting this awesome epic new fallout game plus on the side weve got fallout shelters so its cool its kind of like a little companion you know for our main game they didnt announce that alone and they didnt announce it after a long drought of content but thats whats happening and thats the big difference here between these mobile games right high blues announced uh a diablo to remaster diablo for a diablo 3 expansion pack you know or something then it would have been less drama for sure less insulting and dont even get me started on the the comment by wyatt dont you guys have phones or whatever ii said you know to to the crowd in a very panicky way because thats that thats just as bad if not worse than boshy oaken is arent you thankful rhetoric right like its just man i lost a lot of respect for wyatt after that comment otherwise i think hes a good guy most the time and is doing pretty well with what he has left of a diablo team now were not grateful im sorry but we know what kind of game this is gonna be what kind of game diablo immortal is gonna be what kind of experience we can expect to have on this device which isnt gonna feel nearly as good as a pc or console game and worse i think we know what we can expect from monetization as well this will more than likely not just be a one-time pay and then you play it game like you normally get from diablo no it may very well be and well see just how bad the monetization is for this game how much they try and nickel and dime us for things like potions right or maybe extra uses out of the hegira cube or something like that right thats our thats our biggest fear there are good people at blizzard there are good people on the on the diablo team brandi campbell wyatt chang i still believe in these these people as representatives and as directors more or less of whats going on in diablo right now you know im not angry at these people or the regular grunts doing their job and the modeling and texturing at games or whatever no no its its not i dont think its their fault and i dont i dont its annoying but then i died i cant hate wyatt for being told yeah youre gonna get on stage and youre gonna hype people up for this mobile game whether he likes it or not no im im mad at whoever is calling the shots whoevers pulling it wyatt strings right but the people will maybe behind that person in the shadows who makes the decisions on what gets funding at blizzard and what doesnt based on market research you see what im saying cuz thats whats really going on here right and ive seen that for years and that was that was to me when i saw that perspective to go back to talking about perspectives and reasoning and stuff like that i really felt like that that was what was really going on here blizzard is just not convinced that diablo is as profitable as their other games like world of warcraft like hearthstone which god knows you know how much they make every day off of her stone packs and expansions you know for example but you know like the recent single-player star wars game that was scrapped you know diablo has seemingly been deemed not profitable enough and therefore not worthy of investment its not as flashy competitive has mobas and stuff like that you know to to be in the spotlight of an esports game or whatever which undeniably brings in huge amounts of money to companies when theyre able to pull off these events and get people will hyped up for stuff like that they cant do that with diablo and they know we wont tolerate lube boxes which lately has been getting some backlash thing thank god for that a bit late but finally there is backlash on loot boxes but a mobile game mobile games are still safe arent they like we can criticize them but were well were just elitists right were pc and console elitists were just picking on the little guy right i guess you know we can be discredited we can be dismissed you know when we criticize mobile games you know it meanwhile mobile games are more and more growing in popularity right and there is a sea of diablo clones on the mobile market you think activision and blizzard wants a piece of that pie better believe they do so theyre gonna make their own clone where actually theyre not gonna make it net ease like right lets clarify that lets pay attention to that because blizzard isnt doing it its neddys that theyve given permission and the rights to do this to make another clone one clone to rule them just profitable enough looking right just enticing enough for for them to go ahead and do that all this and more i could say to explain the diablo drama were not entitled were flocking starved and have left in droves to other arpgs to try and find a replacement trying to find something that can help us recapture the feeling of the darkness and the edge and the fun and the story experience that a diablo game brings and some of them have been able to do that yeah some of these companies have been doing damn good at replicating that that feeling like path of exile and the upcoming for now well wait for the next yellow game now we turn around it here another blizzcon what do we see blizzard on stage selling the corpse of the once great king of a rpgs a popular comet that keeps apparently getting deleted and is now spammed constantly on social media especially the diablo immortal trailers says quote no king rules forever my son a quote of course from the world of warcraft cinematic of the fall of arthas cole continues i enjoyed my 20-plus years playing blizzard games but it seems now is the time to admit the soul is gone end quote i guess thats the truth of it yeah once great king of a rpgs that reign is over i guess its been over for a long time some of us still lingering as fans wanted to believe that the king could come back reclaim the throne what do we find we find it which is reclaiming the lowest level of gaming mobile platform its pretty sad actually its really sad and thats the way it is i guess until they find a way to make diablo profitable enough i guess this is the way things are but i guess the silver lining in this is that it gives other companies a chance to to fill in that void that empty space of people that want to see more a rpg action we got path of exile obviously doing very good like i said over in korea lost ark is about to hole man they are about to kick off the most incredible a rpg inspired game isometric camera ive ever seen blizzard youve got a tough fight ahead of you if you do plan i know you got multiple projects for the diablo universe not just diablo immortal but you got ho you got a lot of fight on your hands and you got a lot of work now especially in trying to win us back and trying to help us forget the taste of this betrayal of announcing another outsource companys game with the diablo name on it i wont soon forget in fact i might remember it even more clearly or as clearly at least when that time comes when you finally do decide to make a new diablo game and presented to us well see how grateful we still are huh as if for this video i think ive said my part well see what the future holds but i am definitely not holding my breath for whats to come for the diablo universe thats gonna do it for [..] oh good afternoon everybody now last night that was really tough on diablo immortal any my eyes rightly so but im a really critical person thats my thing thats my stick im sure the rest of the down-low community however have been very lenient with it oh my god hi everybody eats as here from hell vs babyface now last night i brought you a video about my personal reaction to the diablo immortal announcement on mobile you got phone i thought it was terrible in short im paraphrasing her video but go check it out i thought it was terrible i thought its laughable i honest to god thought its a joke when he first said it on screen i thought oh hes kidding now hes gonna do the proper reveal whatever it may be and lets just say it was met by the community with well i [laughter] think the skit at the beginning of the video just showed everything the two hundred thousand down votes to the what six thousand up votes thats like a 97% disapproval rating people do not like now since then and the purpose of this video is theres been more things which have come out which have been sent to community even further and im gonna go through them bit by bit now first of all after the opening ceremony to the olympic blizzcon 2018 they had a whats next for diablo where all they spoke about was diablo immortal ive now watched that this morning completely and ive gone through all the q&a and lets just say the q&a was rough really really rough now when they would came up on stage they gave this field there was wyatt cheng he had a couple of developers with him they had their speaker you know filled to go through not a single sound from the audience none no reaction to anything no reaction to their jokes their silliness their banter nothing the crowd went mild there was just they just did not they did not look like they care they i think were waiting for what was going to be the star of the show the qa and when the qa arrived holi did it go completely off here now you may have seen and we will see in a second two of the big questions and the response more importantly by blizzard on this and this is what i want to talk about because there have been a few people whove been coming out defending blizzard about diablo immortals saying its not its not the developers fold its not the developers fault they just told to do it theyre just doing their jobs first and foremost i havent seen a single person make a personal attack not one i am not seeing anybody having personal attacks against wyatt chang at all peoples anger is directed at the correct source in my opinion which is the nature of the game a mobile regressive diablo beloved franchise game nobodys making personal attacks but while were on the subject of this and defending blizzard absolutely not these people know what theyre doing these people are not innocent princesses theyre not small forms which have just come out of their mothers value and are taking their first tentative steps in life what is this what is this online world i seen yeah these are grown men and women that know exactly what theyre doing they are well paid for it and if theyre sent out to face the lions they are doing their job this is why we have customer service in the world because thats what their pay to do its their job you dont phone up a complaints division of a company and the person on the other end of line says hey look its not me i i didnt make this product dont have a go at me i didnt do this its the its the higher-ups in the company that wont take your call but dont have a go at me thats their job thats what theyre paid for it comes with the praise and it comes with the criticism and if you take the praise you have to take the criticism so there is no defense here you lie down with dogs you get fleas and thats as simple as that so you want to defend this nonsense you defend this nonsense i dont care if these are wonderful lovely people nobody nobody is having a go at that peoples anger is very specific its the nature of the product so lets now get on to the comedy aspect which was the q&a and it started off hard because i think the diablo 2 community were expecting two announcements or hoping there be two announcements possibly a diablo 2 remake possibly but i think most of them from the diablo community people that ive been speaking to were expecting druids to be announced for diablo 3 so the first question was where the druids well here are the druids thats which there was no response there was no answer it doesnt look like theyre being worked on by the sounds of what was going on on stage well its about a vote you know i would vote for dreads i play druid in wow well i i you know i would prefer a witch doctor it doesnt even look like jurors in development people so im really sorry if thats your thing next question whens this going to be ready dont know itll be ready when its ready and before that guy left a microphone he managed to quickly get in and go on a typical blizzard response so the announcing diablo mortal the great new mobile phone progressive game and no no no no no no time at all thats god knows and then a really big question came along how is the production of diablo immortal affecting other diablo projects which are being worked upon great question and why it chang said no response were working on other stuff but no response there was nothing that they said there were they were not satisfying the answers and people were getting more and more agitated and then this question happened this guy steps up on stage and says a perfectly legitimate question and just listen to the response and the response is another reason why i have goose egg goose egg sympathy for the development team right here so lets just listen to what he says ice curious i see a lot of mechanics that we kind of been begging for in diablo 3 in this is there any plans to make this playable on pc or is this strictly mobile forever are there any yeah this the current plan is to be on mobile both android and ios we dont have any plans at the moment to do pc [music] did you guys not have fun yeah you guys did they just get woke bliss did you just get woke again you does not have phones you not have phone you have phone you have phone wow wow and that is why you have zero zero sympathy for the development team just the absolutely oblivious response to that question do you not have a phone this may want this mase look like the future of money to companies but is this the future of gaming no no a five and a half inch screen where youre trying to turn and twiddle and no this right here in front of me this pc layout this is in some way or form always gonna have a massive massive form when it comes to gaming people want to be sat down relaxed they want to have great functionality tools like keyboards and mouse and joy pads for some people as well people dont want to be squinting squinting on a five and a half inch screen pushing stuff with finicky controls with their flock pingas excuse my french and so when the person asks a perfectly legitimate question in a very passive manner he was he was on his back with his belly exposed with his paws in the air saying oh my body languages is is as submissive as theyre gonna come and your responses are you got found absolutely no sympathy whatsoever and that is the attitude of blizzard right there in a nutshell and so after this which got my ira oh did it get my arab somebody step forward some say his name is actually duke nukem because this guy has got balls of steel just was wondering is this an out of season april fools joke mic drop [music] is this an out of season april fools joke and you know why he asked that question because it sounds like one hes he yeah is he being sarcastic yeah hes he being condescending yeah but you know what hes also being very truthful and hes saying what a lot of people are very likely thinking and you can tell that from the response that he got from the actual audience itself when he said that they is stunned silence because people are absolutely gobsmacked by what theyre seeing with this announcement this is only the future of gaming to companies that want to make a ton of money in microtransactions this isnt the future of gaming when it comes to a true gamer not at all absolute nonsense and so what they said was perfectly perfectly legitimate and if that takes the people on stage off guard again i got no sympathy if youre coming out with a project like this then you better be prepared if you came out on stage expecting everybody and this is the problem with the circle-jerk which goes on in blizzard and the community if youre expecting that because its blizzcon everybody is gonna cheer and love you and everythings gonna be roses and deuces and aces and all that – as if you come out with a product like this that takes a beloved franchise and essentially craps all over it so you can make a quick buck and well get to that very soon indeed again you have to accept the consequences now when it came to other questions just nothing will it will it be hard chord mode no will there be other difficulties extreme mode all these insane mode whatever its called in diablo we dont know why dont they know because mobile gaming isnt set up for this kind of player this isnt why people game thats why they need the functionality of their keyboards in their mice and their tools and their pads and stuff like that because things like this arent conducive the reason why they said theres probably no hardcore mode what if you get a disconnection on your phone and you lose your character you know its way more easy way way way more easy that youre gonna get disconnected on a mobile device than you are at home with a wide connection way more the only reason youre gonna get disconnected with a wire connection is if something intrinsically goes wrong at the backend of whichever your isp is but with this black spots you know dips all over the place so mobile gaming isnt the future because it has too many limitations its a limitation on what modes you can play theres limitations what difficulties that you can play and one question which was not asked whether it is filtered i dont know but it certainly wasnt addressed was what is the pay model of this game going to be and before anyone of you think well they probably havent got around to think about that as know i speak to a lot of game developers and there are a lot which ive spoken to who are pretty deal it disillusioned with the industry and one thing that i hear off them is whenever it comes to creating a new game and youre sat down and youre just ready for the first picture of ideas going back and forth pretty much the first question which ever gets asked now in todays current genre of gaming is how do we monetize this product and i very much doubt that diablo immortal is any different i think that was one of the first questions if not the first question that was asked when it came to the concept and a construction of this game on mobile how do we monetize so theyve got pretty much an idea about what theyre gonna do in terms of microtransactions and monetary things whether or not they switch things up based off feedback i dont know but lets just say the qa was a complete and utter disaster for them now lets just look at some gameplay from diablo immortal and im picking out something very specific here this is the barbarian so here they go the barbarian going in do look at this look at this look at that okay now lets just jump to something else this is a game called endless gods it says endless of the gods endless gods by netties thats the same company thats making the news and lets just have a look at some of the footage from this game shall we each cut oh oh oh oh oh wait that that looked that looked identical to the barbarian huh isnt that weird now let me just shift the image here lets just have a look at this sir you i outlay here on the right hand side of this screen here we go sever have a look at that now lets bring back the the diablo video and lets just jump to the oh oh lets just jump to the oh wait a minute this is the exact same ui as well so the same company thats making diablo immortal that made endless gods is using the same animations is using the same layout this is a reskin of an existing mobile game by netties now this was approached wyatt chang was approached by ign reputable ign im sorry this video shouldnt have jokes in it he they were they approached and they asked him because i think they wanted to address this saying that chang responded to claims that diablo immortal may be a reskin by saying the following weve been working with netties games from the beginning as a partnership to create everything in diablo immortal ok we have artists on our side they have artists on their side and we work together as a team as a partnership to create everything about diablo immortal the environments the characters the skills the story well thats not what it looks like here i mean sure youve got artists which are gonna make it look like a diablo game you have story board its who are gonna create the cutscenes for a diablo story and you have the environment teams to create your environments but the skills looked identical the playstyle looks identical theyre taking an identical model for an existing game to make your new and progressive and the future of gaming is mobile diablo immortal what an absolute crock sh1te and then folks then comes the final thing you see blizzard throughout the whole course of blizzcon theyve said how much they love the fans how much theyre listening to the fans this already shows a complete lack of listening understanding of a community is this a remake of diablo 2 to bring it into the modern age a beloved beloved game diablo 2 when i was younger diablo 2 when you said those words it was as if you were saying the mecca of gaming that is how revered diablo 2 is you hear these stories about how items would sell on ebay and stuff from diablo 2 for ridiculous money because of how much they were sought after and how beloved the game was yeah all these amazing things so you have people hoping maybe that theyre do that thats what the community was hoping no okay all right fair enough youve got other things maybe youre you are looking to the future and not into the past maybe diablo 2 is habits day then maybe you are looking forward so what about the current product at least add druids bringing druids bringing a new class to diablo 3 no no no no there this is what the community has been asking for wanting blizzard arent listening theyre not listening because they they dont care they have their agenda its their agenda its the beat of their drum that they go towards but heres the coup de gras blizzard listen to your feedback so much they respect your feedback so much theyre in the comment section for the diablo immortal reveal video the one that has six thousand likes and two hundred thousand dislikes theyve been removed critical comments from the chat and im not talking people go ah dont grow yourself im talking about legitimate concerns that people have legitimate disappointments that people have any critical comment that gets up voted is pulled down nyx iam had a just a regular post weve had some good news about wow weve had some good news about hearthstone some good news about heroes of the storm i have never heard that game no this is really disappointing this leaves a bad taste in the mouth mobile isnt the future of game legitimate concerns comment gone loads of comments just getting deleted deleted deleted if they repost them deleted if they somebody else repost them deleted that is how much they care about your feedback that is how much they are listening to your feedback they are deleting your comments and your criticisms so diablo immortal isnt just a joke it isnt just a disappointment it is such an egregious reskin phony of a game that is designed for nothing more than to exploit a franchises great name and to exploit a community that is surrounding that because they think hey if we stick diabolo on a mobile device then it will take the demote diablo community to that mobile device and to those microtransactions theres a an old saying and im an old guy theres an old saying that i want to leave this video with you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink and the diablo 2 community they dont want to drink anything at all [..] blizzcon 2018 what an emotional rollercoaster that was now since i asked the question a lot of people have been asking me to kind of put together my thoughts on blizzcon 2018 and thats kind of exactly what i aim to do in this video so without further ado lets get into it hi lord fluffy face of diablo 3 is ice curious i see a lot of mechanics that we kind of been begging for in diablo 3 in this is there any plans to make this playable on pc or is this strictly mobile forever are there any yeah this the current plan is to be on mobile both android and ios we dont have any plans at the moment to do pc did you guys not have phones yeah you guys so first and foremost i kind of want to get some context to the question itself so for you guys that dont know me im lord fluffy im a diablo 3 streamer ive been streaming diablo almost exclusively since season 3 season 4 ive been playing diablo 3 since vanilla without really ever taking a break i have countless hours sunk into diablo i dont even want to look at the number and ever since the release of the necromancer pack i have more or less been one of the top diablo streamers for quite some time now i actually had pretty low expectations going into blizzcon for the diablo franchise pretty much since season 12 we havent been seeing really any diablo content the most notable of those changes however has been the addition of themed seasons which for you guys dont know they basically just add a seasonal theme its been double goblins double bounty mattes nothing super innovative or game-changing pretty low-level changes that pretty much already existed in the game it didnt require any changes and i did more or less hype us up you know kind of right before the round three of blizzcon tickets went on sale brainy said this wed also like to let you know that the forge is here at wizard a burning hot and we have multiple diablo projects in the works some of them are going to take longer than others but we may have some things to show you later this year so of course everyone everyone thought that that was going to be a table 4 announcement theres no one i met at blizzcon back when that announcement was made that expected anything less than diablo 4 but of course as a lot of you guys know a couple weeks ago a blizzcon did kind of lower expectations and came out and said we know many of you are hoping for and good things come to those who wait but evil things take often longer so theyre basically in a nutshell telling us like theres no chance youre getting the elbow 4 so if you guys you know watch the podcast at all going into it i didnt really have the highest of expectations for the diablo franchise obviously a lot of people were hoping for diablo 2 remastered and i thought that that was in the realm of possibility but of course the one thing that didnt change after they lowered our expectations was the fact that diablo which we didnt know is the apple immortal yet diablo was following the opening ceremony and historically that has always meant that that game is getting the biggest announcement of the year period historically thats been 100 percent accurate every time so of course everyone still had really really high hopes theyre hoping for you know dt remastered hoping for diablo 3 content maybe an expansion or a character pack and honestly the community would joke about you know diablo pr or diablo mobile but im not sure that anyone actually expected that to be the case so you know fast forward its blizzcon day one we finally get inside drop a deuce key another diablo streamer actually saved the seats towards the front so we had you know really good spot but you know going into the day i was a little bit sour already you know people were tweeting at me like hey fluff what time are you gonna stream at blizzcon and im just kind of like what are you talking about and i guess that they had invited todds and tons of streamers to stream either you know diablo on switch or diablo mortal and of course i hadnt received any invites whatsoever so i was a little sour already because you know ive been streaming this game for a really long time im making guides for a really long time i have a pretty decent amount of reach for diablo and to not really get an invite its kind of like a really feels bad moment especially considering they invited a lot of streamers that really have nothing to do with diablo at all to streaming the game so i was already feeling kind of salty walking in but i still had like really really high hopes so now its really excited about you know the future of diablo and what we could expect because again most of us are expecting a really big announcement cuz it is the first game after the opening ceremony so were kind of hyped up were sitting there the classic game team comes out and so this would be the team that youre expecting the diablo 2 remastered announcement to come from and he was so vague leading up to the trailer i am honored to present the return of another titan be able to write we never paid any heat so immediately when i see this im not a huge blizzard fanboy i really dont play any game besides diablo and i see this and im like i dont really know whats going on here like what is that like im thinking the banners that they have in diablo like i thats the first thing that came to my head and then the voice kicks on right the voice actor from diablo 2 the dude in the prison cell so im like oh flock here we go boys d2 remastered and then it keeps going right and you see like the orc and the dude fighting and then im like wait a minute im like is that a paladin whats going on why would orcs be in diablo remastered and then this dude pops up obviously thats for crafts and im like man damn it so immediately im thinking okay theyre not going to master two games in one year so – yellow – remastered its absolutely out of the window but at the same time im like holy shed like theyre still gonna be a huge announcement coming for diablo and really the only thing thats left is diablo 3 and honestly as of diablo 3 player that was the one thing i wanted more than anything like yeah before is a certainty its gonna happen it doesnt really matter when for me its just its so far down the road that i cant even like think about it diablo 2 remastered itd have been really cool but honestly the game i play almost every day is diablo 3 so the content i want the most is diablo 3 and so im like wow we might actually get a full-fledged diablo 3 expansion i cant believe it im actually even more hyped after seeing the warcraft 3 reforged than i was before so then its diablos moment right wyatt chang comes up on stage and honestly before blizzcon i mean i had really no idea that wyatt chang even still worked for diablo or blizzard cuz honestly i havent seen wyatt chang since like quinn did an interview with him like two three years ago out of blues con i havent seen him since so im like okay hes been working on something juicy so he comes on and this is kind of all of us reacting to what happens next love so im psyched right hes like we love diablo im like cuz i lo diablo right but im like you know im all smiles right because im like because im honestly thinking diablo 3 expansion this has to be big right there i mean do ski already knows duke hes like a flocking mobile dudes and like it felt so unreal right cuz this is not what anyone wanted at all this i was totally and completely blindsided by this we would joke about a diablo br we would joke about diablo mobile no one expected it like no one wanted it so i was just like i mean you can see like the definition we would use the places a platform for a news tiamo nothing just defeated thats a defeated man that is a defeated man right there the game ive been playing since vanilla the game ive been playing for like the last year without any changes besides like tiny little seasonal themes is getting nothing were getting a mobile game that no one really wanted absolutely no one asked for and so like the things that are going through my head is just like as a diablo streamer like what do i do like are we still gonna play rat runs for another year or more because this mobile game was obviously in very early stages of development so thats not gonna be ready for at least a year or more unless this you know chinese company is like amazing at pushing out code and so am i what do we do now like whats there to look forward to now so im super livid like i am just like im almost trembling and people are always like oh man you look like youre about ready to cry in the video honestly im like trembling from rage like i am just so pissed off i didnt want to just immediately jump on this all trying to be like you know flock you guys flock your stupid game and i wanted to be open-minded because im not im not a journalist by any means im a diablo streamer im a diablo content creator but i wanted to keep an open mind for the people that might still be interested in this game so then they get to the diablo q&a right and i really didnt even have an idea of what i wanted to ask i just knew i wanted to be up there and i wanted to ask him something and i wanted to ask him something that would kind of portray how the pc people felt basically everyone at blizzcon felt about this game but even in my own head im thinking like should i say something just just like completely rude should i be a dick you know im sure the exact same thing that the red shirt guy was thinking in his head should i stick to the question that i told brandi i was gonna ask or should i completely go off the road and really tell him how i feel but again you know the interest of being open minded and you know not burning my bridges kind of really took over and you know i ended up sticking to the question i originally wanted to ask and all my question was you know obviously i of diablo on pc diablo is meant for pc and thats just plain and simple its always been on pc to me its not really meant for other platforms i dont like diablo on console im not excited about diablo on switch at all i played it while i was there and i was like grossed but if thats your thing im not sh1tting on it i just i really wanted to be able to play a new diablo game on the platform that i wanted to play it on of course i was curious i see a lot of mechanics that we kind of been begging for and so i yeah first i asked i see i didnt ask first i said okay i see a lot of elements that weve been begging for in diablo 3 and thats totally true you know something like ground effects like so very much so in the demo like when a mob was casting something that you shouldnt be in you would get kind of a notification on the ground of hey like dont stand in this and thats something that you know people have been really wanting in diablo 3 theres a lot of mechanics in diablo 3 that theres really no way to avoid them or no real way to know that theyre coming and that it feels bad it plays bad its bad design and so thats thats one of the things i was talking about the other thing i was talking about is like more involved skill mechanics so like in a demo you know you would cast meteor and it would bring up first it would bring up your aoe radius how far away you could cast meteor and then within that you would have like a smaller circle to kind of pick exactly where you wanted that meteor to fall and i think something like that in diablo would be amazing so imagine if you will not only you have to put like your set together your build together min max your stats get augmented and stuff like that be actually the aim your skills or you have to aim some skills but not all of them this is just a bit more skill based i felt it felt a lot more like like a moba game or you really have to like time your skills to get like maximum effectiveness out of them and stuff like that and that was something that i thought would be really cool and you see a lot of that from like lost ark lineage eternal you see like theres this new like swipe mechanic were like you swipe your mouse and like like a firewall will pop up where you swiped and just like really cool skill features like that and thats what i meant when i first said what i said then i go on and again my voice is kind of trembling and its not cuz im nervous because i dont have a problem talking in front of people but like i was so upset i was so upset im so mad that was really like just doing it good cuz in my head im like like i want to say a lot worse but im not gonna is there any plans and i didnt really have to add the forever that was kind of like my attempt i guess at a jab its like strictly mobile forever i dont want to be a total dick but i wanted to absolutely portray how disappointed i was and how disappointed i think i felt everyone was and you guys have to keep in mind when i went out there to ask my question i didnt think it would get the reaction that it did i didnt think that people would actually boo i didnt expect that whatsoever so i didnt go up there with the intention or the negative intention of causing controversy or any kind of uproar i just wanted to ask a question now generally curious about because i still and i know like emulators exist but its not like a true official experience so i was really generally curious if this would ever be brought to pc and i got a very official kind of way because you know its just a platform i want to play it on its a platform to everyone at blizzcon wanted to play on so i mean the question came from a good place and i tried to be as non negative as i could possibly be we dont have any plans at the moment to do pc so you know the boo happened which i didnt really expect and im kind of glad they didnt clip the camera back to me because like i was you know you look at my face strictly mobile forever im not a happy dude its kind of find zookas zanjeer a former diablo streamer he was kind of like in the control center and like so there had a camera pointing at me they had a camera point at why it changed so he could see both feeds and he he was like you just looked pissed off um and in his head hes like fluff dont ask the question dont do it so im you know im glad they didnt point it back to me because i didnt look super super wow question and like they told him like cant you run this game or something on your machine and peopled be like people go crazy but why i wasnt talking to me like he was addressing the people that were booing like very very generalized statement the problem is that this didnt come off very well it wasnt well-received and of course it has become a meme on the internet now of course as you guys saw after the announcement was made it was very quiet like it was dead quiet theres no like whoo you know like people excited theres really not a lot theres a lot of stirring but not like in a positive im so excited kind of way more of like a everyones kind of like uneasy right and of course the infamous red shirt guy goes up there and he kind of just says exactly whats on his mind hey wondering is this an out of season april fools joke thats so hard to watch it makes me so uncomfortable but its not necessarily an unfair question thats certainly something i struggled with you know when i was in line so they would what happened was that someone would ask you what your question is they would do their best to answer it or if they didnt like it theyd make you step out of line so he obviously didnt tell them that was the question that he was going to ask and i did tell brandi whos on my side of the stadium i told her like i was gonna ask if its gonna be multi-platform and brandi was like im pretty sure its gonna be mobile only but if you want to ask your question anyways or if you want to let my answer shape what youre gonna ask go right ahead unless you didnt say get out of line get take out of here fluff and im actually kind of surprised because a lot of you guys might not know my channel or follow my stream but im not necessarily known for withholding my opinion and im not necessarily known for candy coding things so i was actually somewhat genuinely surprised that they didnt pull me out of line but at the same time is you know very happy they didnt red shirt guy asked his question and at this point like im already kind of leaving but i heard him say it and i heard the crowds reaction and its like oh man like what a disaster what a total disaster and so of course immediately after this you know people were going crazy on twitter people were going crazy on reddit people are going crazy on youtube now of course i dont have to tell you guys you know those of you who are home during this whole thing you know a lot of streamers were you know in uproar and obviously youtube was an uproar the amount of dislikes this thing has is absolutely insane i think i saw a post that said something where around 600000 dislikes were in total theyre also deleting negative comments those of you that stream or have been on twitch.tv knows that deleting or banning people it really only kind of empowers them or infuriates them even more so of course people are going to come back and continue to down vote maybe even make alternate accounts continued it down but post negative comments keep coming back to find new ways of posting negative comments vpn to post negative comments so its a really really poor business yeah people are gonna download it like theres nothing you can do about it man like just let it go now one of the things that we talked about a lot the day that it happened was had they released something else alongside diablo immortal do you think it wouldve been better received and the results seemed to be kind of overwhelmingly yes most people tend to think that if they said okay dt remastered plus weve got this new thing on the side you know to do alongside dt remastered or imagine they had diablo 3 content like a character pack or an exfoliation and then theyre like hey on the side weve got diablo immortal a new mobile game confuses the crap out of me is like diablo mortal is nowhere close to being done so why even announce it why not rearrange the schedule right like you dont have to keep diablo in the top spot actually if you made your announcement said hey you know pump the brakes on your expectations for diablo this year why wouldnt you just rearrange schedule to like reflect that why would you keep diablo in that top spot only to release a mobile game thats not even gonna be ready for a long time to count now on another like this was particularly hard to watch because like wyatt chang is a particularly nice guy he actually personally reached out to me before blizzcon made sure i was invited to like the community event that happens the night before for content creators when i was way to tell me he was a big fan of the podcast that we do big fan of the stream and throughout blizzcon i was given numerous opportunities to sit down and talk with wyatt chang so i just i mean i cant help feel bad for him because like one hes a super super nice guy and two i dont really know that you know all this decision-making and making the diablo immortal announcement at blizzcon we dont even know that that was really up to him you know what i mean so its like if it was like i guess he kind of deserves the backlash that he got ish but if its not it like it kind of sucks right now all that being said i dont i dont really want to cover my thoughts on double mortal in this video i actually played diablo immortal i would guess more than anyone probably did at blizzcon i went to deline like a bazillion times i played through every character class four or five times full clears you know taking as much time as i possibly could on each character and then even going further to try to like grind gear and find bugs and you know i was just often found myself just you know standing there for like thirty minutes and no one else came to the line because i really wanted to you know give it a fair chance and really cover it for you guys so i plan on doing that in a future video and really going in-depth into like my thoughts on the game how it played and even some insider information that i might have anticipated metroid prime 4 and says its only for ios or android its a mobile game only and its never coming to the switch the backlash that would receive would be astronomical from the pissed-off fanbase and youre gonna sit there and tell me and look at me square in the face and tell me im entitled if i get pissed the flock off that this that metroid prime for would go mobile youve got to be flocking kidding me youre out of your mind of course devs can create whatever in the hell they want but understand that you have a fanbase of dedicated players who are on one dedicated platform and could sell it for real money yeah so in diablo 3 launched in 2012 for the first eight months they had a real money auction house wow if you found an item that was rare you could sell it i sold one i the world world of warcraft online people now are like people that jumped on around the oh four zero fives but but diablo like trendy was yeah right a core of diablos players are still those people from the 90s its its just a huge diablo 2 is so big so when they announced this these people have like the thunder sticks you know like at the beginning of a star wars rally or something like that [..] so following the announcement of diablo immortal a blizzcon a lot of people have asked to me to give an opinion on the situation and absolute pr nightmare following the games reveal and live q&a but first for those of you that arent aware of what diablo immortal is or why people are pissed off about it let me get you up to speed for several years fans of diablo havent had any big announcements in terms of new content for diablo 3 or news of diablo 4 or any news of remakes for diablo 1 or 2 for pc the last time anything substantial was released for diablo was the reaper of souls expansion for diablo 3 back in 2014 this led many people to believe that this was going to be the year where something big would be announced for diablo a blizzcon this idea was further backed up by the fact that there were a few articles in regards to blizzard posting job listings for an unannounced diablo project earlier this year and a few days before blizzcon a few fake blizzcon leaks said there would be a diablo 2 remastered announcement unfortunately what fans got wasnt a new or remastered diablo game for pc like they were hoping for but a mobile mmo a rpg diablo game for ios and android instead understandably the fans werent happy and the reception to this game is probably the most negative ive ever seen and if anything it just goes to show how out of touch blizzard are with their community i mean what the flock did they think was gonna happen the vast majority of fans that attended liske on our pc gamers theyre not interested in whats essentially a more sh1tty version of diablo 3 on mobile which will obviously have a clunkier controls a lower difficulty of content than a pc game and be riddled with microtransactions of course people are going to be pissed off and disappointed if thats the only announcement one of your supposed core franchises has had in the past four to five years personally i flocking hate mobile games other than old school runescape on mobile thats the only decent one i can think of id rather do nothing than play a mobile game but i do have to admit when i saw a bit of the gameplay from diablo immortal i did think to myself you know for a mobile game it looks decent in terms of gameplay and i think if blizzard had announced this alongside another deal project maybe a diablo remaster for pc or even the slightest hint the diablo 4 is in development then i think the community reception would be completely different maybe even slightly positive it seems to me that as blizzard has grown over the years into the mega company they are today their focus has shifted from how can we please fans and make incredible games – how can we please investors and to maintain unsustainable profit increases each year from a business point of view its a very smart idea for them to make diablo a mobile in fact i bet theyll make way more money by creating this mobile live service diablo game than they would from making diablo 4 simply because of how large the mobile market is and how popular mobile games are in china is depressing but when you look at the revenue mobile games make they can far surpass pc and console games costing a fraction of the price to make just look at league of legends in 2017 their worldwide revenue was 2.1 billion dollars yet in the same year a chinese knockoff version of league on mobile called arena of valor surpassed 3 billion dollars in a similar time frame with 96% of their revenue coming from the chinese market im sure if blizzard did make diablo 4 or older diablo remasters it would be insanely popular and make a crapload of money but as weve seen from the triple-a gaming industry time and time again a crapload of money just isnt the same as all of the money in the world which they constantly seem to be striving to make regardless of artistic integrity or respect from the audience that gave them their success in the first place the truth is that a brand new traditional diablo game on pc and consoles would be way harder to monetize than a mobile live service diablo game i think the most entertaining part of this sh1tshow came from the reaction of the crowd after the games announcement and blizzards attempt at damage control honestly watching the opening ceremony into q&a i felt so bad for watching for having to try and make the audience excited for this mobile game it just wasnt happening i think he was expecting roars of cheers and applause after the trailer but instead he got a few clubs and what id imagined to be many disappointed faces we want to use mobile devices as the platform for a new diablo game because nothing brings a family together like slaying demons diablo immortal [applause] [music] the two highlights of the diablo immortal q&a for me was the guy who asked if itd be available on pc and also the guy who asked if it was a late april fools joke is there any plans to make this play strictly mobile forever are there any yeah this the joke unfortunately nobody asked how aggressively blizzard will be monetizing this game of microtransactions which was the main thing i was interested in knowing something i think worth pointing out about this diablo immortal q&a is that the developers didnt have answers to a lot of fairly basic questions people had about the game such as a release date how does progression work how difficult will it be which leads me to believe that the games are a long way from release i just wonder why they decided to announce this game at blizzcon when its so far out rather than a smaller then maybe focused on mobile phones or something if theyre announcing diablo immortals so early on in development it makes me think that its highly likely that there arent currently any other diablo games in the works because anyone even remotely competent at marketing would know that this game is best announced alongside a diablo product that your core fanbase actually wants something else thats been talked about allies that blizzard seems to be contracting chinese internet company netties to make diablo immortal and a lot of people have pointed out that two of netties as previous mobile games crusaders of lights and endless of god look very similar in terms of user interface to the diablo immortal footage that was shown causing many people to claim that diablo immortal is essentially a reskin of a chinese diablo ripoff personally im not too sure if thats true when it comes to ui design it seems like there are a few differences and honestly i dont see any other way you could make an a rpg work on mobile without this kind of ui layout so be honest all mobile a rpgs look pretty similar anyway so my assumption would be that netties even used some kind of mobile a rpg template or took inspiration from what worked in their previous games but to me it does look a little bit more than just a reskin one of the major talking points of this controversy was how blizzard seems to be censoring criticism by hiding top comments on both the diablo immortal gameplay trailer and cinematic trailer even i posted a few comments that got removed of course this only made things worse and pissed people off even more further perpetuating this absolute pr nightmare they even uploaded separate unlisted versions of the cinematic and gameplay trailer on the battlenet launcher to try and escape the dislikes it didnt seem to work of course all of this didnt seem to stop a lot of the so-called gaming journalists from rushing to blizzards defense on twitter with one absolute flocking twats trying to twist the entire situation to be a sexism issue and toxic masculinity what a flockin bellend honestly whenever theres a controversy in gaming that gamers are generally pissed off about you always get these social justice retards trying to spin things and make it about politics gender and discrimination any form of negativity and criticism some gaming journalists find toxic you know whats more toxic allowing triple-a publishers to continue to design games purely around monetization gambling mechanics and pay2win bs without cooling them out on it negativity in gaming is a flocking good thing if you ask me if it wasnt for negativity and gaming communities coming together to say flock you to the suits at the top of these companies then nothing would ever change ea wouldnt have changed the loot boxes in star wars battlefront 2 world of warcraft classic wouldnt be in development old school runescape wouldnt exist if nobody spoke out and complained about the direction weve slowly been heading in the gaming industry over the past few years because of fear of being perceived as toxic wed have much worse and more aggressively monetized games out today than we already do so disappointed theyd be when blizzard holds this event theyve been teasing this and then everyone whos a diablo fan comes to this event hoping to see something about a new actual diablo game just to have blizzard pretty much mocked them on stage and to reveal this mobile game that nobody in the community wanted or asked for now ive been reading a lot of articles about this and i see a couple different viewpoints from different articles and stuff like that and i want to talk about that and i want to talk about the controversy around this game because i 100% side with the community about this game as a call of duty fan i can only imagine how pissed most of us would be since weve been waiting for modern warfare 2 remastered and diablo fans have even wanted remastered diablo games but i can only imagine how pissed the whole call of duty community would be if next year activision came on stage and said hey guys guess what were were mastering modern warfare 2 black ops 1 black ops 2 but heres the catch its not gonna be on console its not gonna be on pc you will be able to play for the first time these games on mobile not only would i not really be surprised if that happened but i would also be kind of pissed because i mean you might as well just poke them in the eye while youre at it and if youre blizzard you should have thought this through much better because diablo is a game that is primarily played on pc and then of course theres console players and stuff too if youre going to announce a new diablo game the very last thing you want to do is announce to a passionate pc community that theyre not getting a new diablo game as a matter of fact the only people who will be getting a new diablo game are mobile gamers and knowing how mobile gaming goes this isnt going to be any traditional diablo game or anything this is just going to be some sort of microtransaction farm for blizzard this all even culminated into a point where the crowd reacted by at the pan asking questions even asking if it was a april fools joke from blizzard which the community around him actually applauded which thats not a good sign if youre revealing a game and the worst thing honestly when i watched back on this clip and i look at it and i see number one how the community in this you know arena itself has reacted to the news by booing the people on stage the last thing you want to do is kind of shed on them and kind of poke at them because when everyone was talking and everything about it the guy on stage said and i quote do you guys not have phones i think the last thing you want to do when you announce a game to boos actually from a crowd of passionate players within that franchise is is to ask something like that dont you all have phones everybody has a goddamn television – but that doesnt mean that they want a tv built-in app diablo game you know this just wasnt the way to approach it on blizzards part and they really should have considered holding a mobile game at least beyond actually releasing a game on pc the community has reacted very very negatively it has become somewhat of a controversy in the gaming community after this all this happened because like i said diablo fans never wanted a mobile game there was no demand for a mobile game everyone was waiting on diablo for blizzard lets everyone know that this event will have some sort of diablo re you know related event going on inside of it and then they tell them that theres multiple diablo productions going on right now and then when everyone thinks theyre gonna get a diablo 4 game they just get this sh1tty mobile game that knowing blizzard will likely end up with some form of micro transactions that are either pay to win or just complete spam inside of the game and i cant blame people for being upset about it you know i cant blame people for tearing the subreddit apart i cant blame people for getting on social media to voice their concerns i cant blame the people in that event for asking such questions as is this an out of season april fools joke when something like this comes up when i first heard about this i didnt even know it was a mobile game i just heard diablo immortals coming out and people were pissed i was like well i havent ever played a diablo game that i can remember it doesnt really matter to me but then looking into this seeing that clip and seeing how blizzard has reacted in a very tone-deaf manner this is an example this is what people have been talking about this is highlighting a major issue in the gaming industry i just dont get how blizzard thinks that its appropriate to respond to all of this backlash with this rhetoric as if just because they have phones they have to play our mobile game you know after this happened there are now calls for boycotts there are petitions to get the game canceled theres accusations against blizzard for removing dislikes on the cinematic and gameplay trailers which have huge amounts of dislikes but then according to kotaku in this article i know i know its kotaku i know they the blizzcon executive producer actually admitted that they were expecting backlash but not to this degree and this is my point if you were expecting backlash and you knew that the community didnt want this why did you come on stage with this product i think that the community would have been much happier if you just came on stage and said look we have a mobile game coming out however we are going to have diablo 4 out before it there is another diablo game coming very soon but they didnt do that they came out on stage they announced this product no one wanted they got booed and then reacted probably in the worst way possible because i mean i understand you think backlash is coming but you dont react to that way to the people you know but another problem with the game that has been highlighted by some fans is that there have been art and assets and other things from previous diablo games cut and actually put into this mobile game however these are just accusations the people behind diablo have denied this theyve said that these different assets and stuff have been built from the ground up for this game something in this article though that i do want to talk about is it says and i quote the explosion of outrage has many on social media discussing the extent to which video game culture enables entitlement you know the whole thing about being consumer is that you are entitled okay you dont have to be a cunt you dont have to be an ass about things but you are entitled to the product that you want thats the beautiful thing about capitalism and competition is that you very clearly have something that you want youre entitled to you have the money youre the one buying it someone has to put up if no ones making the product you go make the product if the products being made other people are gonna make the product theres gonna be competition better products are made from that so the whole idea that video game culture enables entitlement is i feel like a little bit flawed but has some ground to it because thats just how we as consumers behave in the first place theres people who go into mcdonalds theyre entitled to food as well most of the time at least and then when they go in there and they dont have whatever they want or they dont get their food in time people are gonna act very very similar to how theyre acting now except theyre doing it in front of somebody theyre not really doing it in a reddit post or doing it in the crowd of some auditorium you know the video game culture does enable entitlement but so doesnt pretty much all markets because if there was no entitlement to want the product that you want and then to get it from somebody there wouldnt really be in my video talking about sonys crusade towards fanservice videogames ive talked about how the console market is dying at the moment in asia due to the rise of pc gaming and mobile gaming to gaming platforms that are cheaper more convenient and in some ways more advanced than its console counterparts at least the pcs for advanced i said in that video that the pc gaming market and the mobile gaming market are going toe-to-toe in terms of popularity and what do you know i was correct or at least in southeast asia i was correct now heres the thing that you need to be aware of and youre talking about a growing market like the mobile sure the mobile market is growing but the problem with that is the market is incredibly competitive people are probably only going to play one or two mobile games at most its going to be really difficult for people to switch into other mobile games unless if they got tired with their current favorite mobile games or if those mobile games are pulling off some really stupid moves with their business decisions or gameplay changes so when game developers are trying to capitalize it to the popularity of the mobile market they really need to understand the audiences that theyre going to attract when developing their games while mobile gaming is pretty broad in terms of his audiences you still need to have your own niche you still need to have a target audience who will definitely buy your game unfortunately this is a memo that none of the people at blizzard god blizzard if you guys dont know is the game company behind the habló starcraft warcraft its mmo counterpart and their most popular game as of late overwatch this gaming company is so big and popular that they have their own convention called blizzcon when they announce upcoming games and future content for already existing titles one of the games being announced for the future is the next installment of diablo titled diablo immortal now people have been really anticipating for years for another diablo game to come out but this trailer for diablo immortal wasnt really received well in fact i can safely say that it has an incredibly poor reception on both the gameplay trailer and a cinematic trailer why is that you might ask well its very simple actually this game is going to be for mobile you can get this game on google play and apples app store when its released so years and years of waiting for another property outlaw game and what the fans got instead is a very similar move that poll with command & conquer and this ladies and gentlemen highlights a massive misunderstanding and disconnect between the developers who developed this game and the audiences that they attract now heres the thing blizzard has developed a successful mobile game before and that is hearthstone hearthstone is very successful on mobile because its pretty much a direct port of the already successful pc version of the game a lot of people know hearthstone and even my friends play hearthstone in both mobile and pc but the reason why hearthstone is so popular in the mobile market is because its a port of the already successful pc version if diablo immortal is announced to be a pc game and a proper next installment for the diablo franchise i think people wouldnt have been angry about it but evidently you have tons and tons of people at blizzcon booing the developers the current plan is to be on mobile both android and ios we dont have any plans at the moment to do pc and then you have this guy being a hero that we all need at this point hey just was wondering is this an out of season april fools joke oh man that was brilliant and that pretty much sums up the reaction that a lot of diablo fans have with this game what the hell is blizzard doing the apple fans have been asking for a proper diablo game ever since the third one really disappointed them although reaper of souls managed to win the heart of a lot of diablo fans back its one expansion pack too late diablo at this moment is not really doing well with the fans so the best way to win their hearts over is to release a game and a platform that theyre not playing did you guys immortal is primarily caused by blizzard not announcing any mainline diablo game for the pc or the next-gen consoles if you play diablo in there for some reason the fact that this game is on mobile shows that whoever is in charge with the diablo franchise right now doesnt understand what their core audience is wanted they dont want a mobile game they just want a proper diablo title on pc something that they havent gotten as a flake so why do you have to announce a game that people will definitely boo on stage whoever is in charge of diablo doesnt understand why this game will fail so let me explain to them you built your fan base for this game mainly on the pc for the record i love the first two diablo games there are two good old pc games that i used to play in my notebook when i was in middle school because its an incredibly low spec game that can run on anything and its awesome diablo 3 was incredibly disappointing for me because the always online error seven bs and the game played that was just not as substantial that was at the year where people keep recommending me torchlight 2 as an alternative and my god i freaking love torchlight 2 its the diablo game that is better than the newer diablo game im not really like a huge fan of diablo but i do love their games and you can say that i am one of the many potential audiences for this game but i dont play mobile games the games i play on mobile are like i said nintendo ds games using an emulator like shin megami tensei straight journey or chrono trigger if i hear diablo i expect a proper pc dungeon crawling game and there is a market for that but there isnt a market for a diablo game on the mobile is there a market for a dungeon crawling game on mobile sure are theyre going to be interested in a diablo dungeon crawling game when they are too busy playing honor dungeon crawling games no and especially if the game that were talking about is pretty much a reskin of the other game from the same developer the mobile market right now is overpopulated its a really damn competitive market there are so many ideas being tried on mobile that you really need to be creative in order to pull off a successful mobile title piggybacking on the success of the diablo franchise is not going to work youre gonna piss off the fanbase and youre not gonna invite more people into your game oh you have is a diablo game on mobile which considering how diverse and creative double-bond gaming market really is right now its not a really good selling point and were not even getting to the micro transaction side i dont know how exploitative the micro transaction of this game will be in the ign article responded with this and theyre capable of top-tier gaming experiences okay just because mobile gaming is getting more more powerful doesnt mean that you should develop your next diablo game on mobile yes most if not all diablo fans or people who like diablo probably own a smartphone but they dont game on the smartphone and they certainly wont play a diablo game on the smartphone they want to play diablo game on pc sure the current smartphone has the technology to bring high-end games but youre making game for a fanbase that dont really plan the smartphone it shows a fundamental lack of understanding on the market that you are trying to hit trust me when i say that i know the mobile audiences very well and theyre way too busy playing other games when you release this one and best of all you dont have to trust me i think you all need a visual representation of peoples interest in this game this is a perfect visual representation look at that no seriously look at that look at the number of people who are interested to play this game this is an event full of people who are loyal fans of your product you make a game that deviates from their expectations and you have booing and people asking if this is an april fools joke and if theyre not doing that theyre not going to visit your booth you can try to defend this game as much as you want you can say that this game is designed to be a bit more mainstream were just following the current trend and if you dont like the game you dont have to play it but this antagonizing attitude will piss people off to the point where none of them are going to buy the game you already alienated your entire fan base so who else is gonna buy this game the market will decide in fact the market has already spoken zero interest in this game and you can just look at it through these sad and depressing pictures and now we get into the heartaches i mean good god the hotcakes are off the charts with this one heres a good example wow i mean wow call reed richards because i dont think he is capable of having this level reach do you know why people associate mobile games with women because they play very simple match three games like candy crush i have the data right here they dont associate women and mobile gaming with games like say mobile legends most of the women who play mobile games that i know of are playing very casual very simple mobile games also the people who bash mobile games are not bashing them because there are more women playing mobile games theyre bashing them because mobile games are not for their microtransactions pay2win bs that a lot of people dont get when playing full price games on more advanced gaming platforms mostly dont get that and mobile is just not a good platform to use to play more advanced type of games people prefer the comfort of the mouse and keyboard or the controller when playing certain video games especially when those games are more advanced in those platforms mobile games are surely getting more and more advanced but theyre not gonna be as advanced as their pc gaming or console gaming counterpart finally caught up in specs to the software thats being developed mobile is very much a viable platform for resource-intensive games like diablo ok one just because mobile games are capable of running more resource intensive games doesnt mean that you should make a diablo game on it and – you dont play diablo games on mobile you just dont gatekeeper to the franchise dude i can tell you for sure that women who play mobile games are not going to be interested with this one women who grew up playing diablo and loving diablo are not going to be interested with this one were giving out criticisms and telling developers why and how this game will fail but your response to our criticisms is oh youre just gatekeeping and preventing newcomers to come in i dont even get the logic behind this one but since no one in the development team are listening at all enjoy those empty booths oh my god like i said hearthstone is a trading card game that is successful on the pc and the reason why its successful on the mobile is because the mobile version is a direct port you are completely off if you compare the game to this diablo mobile game you might notice a little bit of trend when you go on twitter and find these really hot takes a lot of these verified users defending the new game are game journalists and industry insiders people who are supposed to represent the interest of the consumers but theyre not theyre there to shield theyre there to defend blizzard committing such lazy hack job of a game what makes it worse is that blizzard is a were of your criticisms they know about the ratio they know about the negative reception but instead of trying to fix the game theyre trying to hide any sorts of criticisms and even delete their videos or unlisted them and we upload it to reset the ratings as if thats going to work stop hiding from criticisms blizzard everyone is airing their comments on this everyone is making videos on this everyone is letting people know about their concerns the more and more you hide from it people will lose faith to you as a company theyre gonna move on from diablo to utter better dungeon crawling games to sum up can anyone blame diablo fans for being incredibly disrespectful towards blizzard or anyone who is responsible for this hack job of a game this product is downright insulting to the fans this product screams we dont care what the fans want all we care about is to follow the current trends without understanding what makes it trendy in the first place also to make tons and tons of money because you know the mobile gaming market is trendy right trust me when i say that i know the mobile gaming demographic very well i have family members who are mobile gamers i have friends who are mobile gamers i know what they want i know what theyre looking for i can say with absolute certainty that theyre not looking for diablo immortal when mobile legends or faiths go or any other mobile games are still dominating the market and since the diablo fans are not asking for a mobile game the final question for today is who is the target demographic for diablo immortal ponder on that for a second blizzard or anyone who is [..] i want to take you guys in a little journey lets rewind to 2014 april the first web blizzard gleefully announced their new mobile game happy reaper an april fools joke diablo on the mobile where they rightfully take the piss out of mobile games sarcastically talking about features fast forward to 2018 blizzcon activision blizzard and ironically announces the latest addition to the diablo franchise a mobile game diablo immortal what happened and where did it all go so wrong if you think of being a little bit dramatic thats because i flocking am thats the point theres people on the internet going around effectively saying were all overreacting were getting just really mad at developers for no reason if you dont like a game dont play it and theyre missing the point so thats what im gonna try and articulate im gonna try and explain as to why blizzard messed this up so badly how they did it wrong and why everyones kind of like how i am a little bit not not too happy cuz im generally speaking a pretty happy guy but i mean this whole diablo situation couldnt have been done worse like theres the right way of doing things and theres a wrong way so lets go over what blizzard did wrong the status if you want a blueprint of how not to release a mobile game then look no further than electronic arts most recent mobile game release at e3 earlier on this year command & conquer rivals a downtrodden deprived fanbase having their game at that was in the process of being made cut had nothing since 2012 and then at e3 they say theyre going to be releasing a new command & conquer title and then electronic arts tries to force a mobile game down this diehard fan bases throat and as you can imagine people werent too happy you go to their official reveal trailer 62000 down votes to 2.9 karos is it sound familiar so i have fan base no game for some years greedy company trying to force some mobile mtx written bs down peoples throats and people arent too happy about it and after the announcement of this debauchery of the command & conquer franchise the ea chief design officer patrick soderlund has the audacity to say we need two respects mobile games just respect it this sounds familiar at all any of this any of this yeah its because diablo activision blizzard are literally doing the exact same flocking thing diablos audience is comprised of primarily pc gamers and has been for the last 20 years blizzcon its full of the most die-hard fans they literally get into a middle to most of them and fly to anaheim paying hundreds of dollars on hotel rooms hundreds of dollars on the tickets theyre the most hard-core blizzard fans diablo as a game the community is generally speaking pretty hardcore they have modes that are called high core not gonna be in the mobile game by the way now either blizzard is so far out of touch with their community that they thought this was going to go down well as the main event and the opening ceremony the main event on the main stage directly after it or disgusting money-grubbing greedy little investors just want to make a quick buck from the diablo ip and theyre gonna run blizzard into the flocking ground i really dont know what the better of the two options is hopefully all the feedback and the uproar and the outrage that the diablo community is causing make these parties wake up make them realize that were not happy with what theyre trying to force down our throats that they cant just announce nothing for many years and then be like heres a mobile game by the way give us money now you think blizzard couldnt make things any worse and youre wrong the people who are in control of the diablo youtube channel had to decided to take it upon themselves to basically start censoring people in the comments section you can just go i mean ive run a youtube channel its pretty easy you just click on a comment you dont like open the thing and your breasts allene i myself only ever deleted literal people just linking viruses but no theyre just straight-up deleting actual comments your boy here hes a hero red pill shark he says 14 times i have been deleted so i say again no king rules forever my son after a great 20 years and many unforgettable memories we part ways you changed blizzard youve changed so that yeah 14 times its been deleted and you might be thinking of just make this up no theres tons of people who have had their comments deleted like other youtubers posting comments on the diablo channel just having their completed you go to the social blade okay this is a scary thing you go to the social blade and you can track how many total comments have been posted on the video versus how many are currently there now as it stands at ty of at the time of making this video blizzard have removed twenty five thousand and forty six comments twenty five thousand i dont know if theyve got like some sort of moderation software going on there but no they do theyre specifically going out and censoring reasonable comments now people are just basically if you dont know i mean as a stream right this is like the first rule of streaming is if you dont like a behavior you subtly deal with it or you just you should ignore it right and then it kind of just goes away or it doesnt get worse the second you try and center people you just multiply the issue and now everyone is there and theyve just multiplied the problem that made it just so much worse for themselves and its just yeah hey blizzard delete this heres a scary part and im a little bit skeptical about this myself so if you go a little bit further and you look into these social bleh statistics of this video and social blade is extremely accurate site you can cross-reference and check with this website on whatever video you want go into exile blade comm check the use of videos and youll see that the numbers line up except for diablo the immortal trailer has a total social blade rating so the amount of times people uploaded and downloaded it is six hundred and two thousand times now if you look at the actual ratings on the video if you plus the dislikes and the lights together it adds up to four hundred and eleven thousand youll be wondering whats going on there thats a total of a hundred and ninety one thousand votes that effectively have just disappeared and the spooky part is the votes that have disappeared a lot up votes and down votes its just down votes so 191000 down votes have just vanished into thin air i myself being a skeptic in most things i am extremely skeptical and id like to think that im pretty flocking woke but im not im just a sperg i would think that either its a glitch with the system or some guy on the reddit you know diablo red its pretty toxic right now you know theres various forums out there where everyones just writing about diablo someone would have made some sort of a bot which creates accounts and down votes and then they would have subtracted the body the botted down votes right thats what i want in my head thats how i rationalize it but theres plenty of people on the forums and things saying blizzard working together with youtube blizzard of working together with google but i mean my question is if they were really working together and they were colluding in to try and make their video look better why not give it a positive ratio you know why not why not like at least get it to 50% its i mean theyve moved it like a fraction of a percent in terms of the rating right its basically done nothing i mean 191000 download says lockdown voice right but at the end of the day its still an abysmal rating and i dont think its just the skeptical part of me wants to believe that blizzard isnt going that low but you guys can make up your minds for that im kind of like on the fence here and i would like to believe that bliss arent doing that or theres no shifty thing with youtube because i dont ive never seen it anywhere else like if it was happening in other places and there was other videos where people are missing with the thing wouldnt justin bieber do that wouldnt like some of the big music companies pay for better ratings on this song so they you know how come its just blizzard that have they got like secret connection so we dont know about i dont know i like to take the templo hat off and think of the most obvious and reasonable solution which would be a bug this is probably the last major critical point i have and its the fact that blizzard are not making the game entirely themselves or at least acquiring the company and then building the game in america its affect us theyre working in partnership with a company called nittis her based in china and they make mobile games and if you look up the knit knees games its monka flocking yes look at this crusaders of light on steam what is this game relevant to you similar games ive played bless online pretty much the worst game i think ive ever flocking played i i mean it was terrible that was that was a terrible mmo i think blizzard i think wow i think diablo i think i dont think bless online okay then you look at the reviews for this crusaders of light game 50% all the reviews were positive like theyre making games that are sub pi which is just if youre gonna make a mobile game blizzard at least make it yourself or acquire the company thats going to make it like buy that shed thats clearly thats just a way that its like oh this is a loophole we can pay people in china its a lot cheaper and it just it just comes off as cheap and tacky and it just feel like this is like its just adding salt to the wound lets bless online regardless lets try and talk about how you do it right lets talk how would you make a mobile game which lets be honest here its inevitable theyve already saturated we are a blizzard were gonna be making more mobile games for the other ips its happening right mobile gaming is huge and we cant stop it but theres a right way of doing it and a wrong way of doing it so lets talk about a great example of how to do it right blizzard get your pen and your paper out and take some notes so earlier on this year yet again at e3 both easter the guys would make elder scrolls and fallout and all that other stuff who cares about the other games announced a new mobile game elder scrolls blades okay you could tell by the audience reaction people werent you know super happy about it you know very very similar to how they reacted to you know g hablo immortal initially very similar the crowd you know they werent like shouting out and cheering and stuff okay very similar audience okay you dont remember there hasnt been a just a normal like elder scrolls game come out since skyrim in 2012 its its like the parallels are insane okay this is like its like a perfect script for blizzard to follow it okay people werent too happy but after they announced the mobile game they then put on a trailer for elder scrolls 6 the new game they didnt specify win then it was just like just a panning shot over some mountains and they said elder scrolls 6 it was literally just a teaser but that basically tells me they know ok our audience clearly is the high core gamers right they dont just want some mobile game but theyre up we do want to go into the mobile market we want to show them that we havent just throwing them to the side and just completely ditch them and were just trying to cash in and get money with a mobile game looks for that i mean the dispensed mobile is theyre doing it for the money right lets be real here if youre trying to make a game right and you want it to be the best it possibly can be and you let really love making games youre going to do it on the platform that is the best and in my opinion that is a pc and i think thats on average i think people would have that same opinion right if youre trying to make the best possible game possible right its not on a mobile phone regardless they knew people wouldnt be too satisfied with just a mobile game they dont want to have the franchise force on a mobile phone and then you and thats why they announced ill just go six so now if you go to the trailer for the blades oh would you look at that 17 k up folks 3.1 k downloads people werent even that mad i guarantee you if blizzard had followed the same script and they had just announced the stupid mobile game for the habló right announce a stupid game and then just had instead of mountains put some flocking dungeons in there and shed some dead guys maybe and then diablo for coming soon instantly the outrage that people feel engaging just trying to force these money flocking making machines down our throat its all instantly its like oh cool we get a mobile game to mess around with whatever blizzard can go into the mobile market but they havent forgotten about us and they are making what we actually want the best possible diablo game it can be on the platform that we wanted on computers or whatever they can port it to consoles i dont care you get the idea and everything would have just gone down so much better now im gonna say some wild shed which might trigger a few people and actually make some people mad well see i dont think mobile games are necessarily always a bad thing and i think there was a place for mobile gaming especially with in blizzards realm i think they can make mobile games for the other eye piece and they could honestly be a good thing and a positive thing a great example is a supplementary mobile game that blizzard made for warcraft we control your garrison followers from your phone so while youre taking a shed you could send you guys on missions right before you woke up or before youre gonna go to sleep you could send you guys to missions i used the app religiously throughout legion and it was extremely convenient in really handy app and it was just a all-around actually felt kind of good right now you can take this one step further right you can take this one step further and take it to another level they could say pay in the enttec or hire some guys from the antic i dont know how this works but effectively they can make battle pet go what should it be like pokemon go where you walk you go catch pets okay these pets would then be synced to the main game from the supplementary mobile game so you go around you captain you capture like a squirrel okay you now have the squirrel in your main game vice versa and you could obviously get the scroll in the game without having to play the mobile app at all it would just be a supplemental thing you can do while youre out then youre doing stuff yeah well youre outside i know its concern right its crazy right you could do the same thing with diablo you could do the same thing with diablo you could basically allow people to play the diablo game for example and they could find something within the game which would then supplement the main game so say youve got some achievements in the game you unlock some cosmetic wings on your main game vice versa you could even go as far to say that if they can balance it correctly you could even farm keystones or farm you know like i dont know theyre gonna have rift keys in diablo 4 find something in the mobile game which would then transfer over to the actual game supplementing it and i feel like you can do that for so many of the other ips and they can actually just be a genuinely fun and cool experience if youve made it this far under the video youre the flippin man or woman or whatever whatever you identify as i really do appreciate you whatever appreciate you spending it like what does this like 20 20 minutes long but its huge actually too long i had to cut down a little bit there are more points that i whats up everybody kinetic here today i need to read a bit i really dont like making videos like this its not my thing to be a drama channel but today has been one of the most shocking depressing disenchanting every other word you could align along that vein for me personally because while i i didnt have high expectations for blizzard and them announcing anything major for diablo ive been disappointed and let down too many times now from previous blizzcon waking up today and the very first thing that i see is that they have announced a mobile game a mobile only diablo game and were going to talk about that and specifically why people who dont understand this dont understand why theres so much drama so much hate so much anger they dont know what theyre talking about they dont play diablo they have been paying attention at all to whats been simmering now into a boiling point for all of these years and have no business telling us that we are ungrateful that were crybabies and stuff like that theres already at an article on mashable saying things like this and its just absurd now this might sound rich coming from me because i have promoted mobile games here on my channel and to me theres a very distinctive difference because its as ive said not that im hating on the fact that theyve got a mobile game but the fact that its the only thing that we have now as an update as fresh content if you will and im gonna talk about why ii you know even i suppose if there was another announcement its still pretty insulting so mobile games to me are fun bite-sized kind of fast food junk food that youre really not supposed to take seriously and isnt supposed to be a main part of your diet i consider mobile games to be low tier games made by low tier developers and theres nothing really wrong with that to me i enjoy and play a lot of mobile games for what theyre worth but blizzard is an established company for a very very long time and when they came out with diablo 3 and there was a lot of problems with diablo 3 and there was a lot of hate a lot of drama back then i defended the game quite a bit on the forums and social media and stuff talking about why i thought i could reason with blizzards decisions and why they did certain things like for example the real money trading auction house which was a big thing right people like wtf why is blue doing this oh they just trying to you know cash in on you know the the the market and stuff like that and i argued that i really believed that they were just trying to make a safer environment for trading like they said that they they were whether they were profiting off of that you know majorly i didnt think was the case but maybe they were making some profit but i believe their intentions to be true that they were trying to make things easier for them and for us in regards to trading but we all know how poorly that went down right so ive been defending the game ive defended blizzard not just because im a fanboy but just because i i tried to look at it from certain perspectives that were reasonable and logical but there is no reasonable view from looking at diablo immortal it is it is purely garbage like coming from and not even thats thats the thing – its not even coming from blizzard right this isnt even their game its their title right they given the rights to another company to make this game to all the people saying the diablo community is being unfair or disrespectful that were just being entitled and should be grateful learn the facts and get your thumb on the pulse of this community before you criticize us because this was a tipping point and its not our fault that you dont understand why weve been begging blizzard for years to do more for diablo a game franchise that they seem to barely care about while showering all of their other games with money and resources manpower to develop a near constant stream of updates and expansions look at overwatch look at world of warcraft or or even heroes of the storm for examples of games that just never like have a content drought seemingly at all you know ever you can expect a new expansion even when it does get kind of dry for example in world of warcraft you can expect an expansion to come now thats just not been the case for diablo especially diablo 3 year after year blizzcon after blizzcon weve gotten scraps or nothing at all and now they get on stage here in blizzcon 2018 and tell us that net es not blizzard is in charge of making this new game and on top of that its a mobile only game right the reaction from the crowd was totally justified at blizzcon when the guy asked is this mobile only are these mechanics these new gameplay features that theyre showing off with characters moba only and they said yes that they have no plans for pc and there was booing which is incredibly rare to hear a booing crowd is there any plans to make this playable on pc or is this strictly mobile forever are there any yeah this the current plan is to be on mobile both android and ios we dont have any lands a moment to do pc did you guys not have phones yeah you guys and that should tell you something that this isnt just crybaby entitlement and ungrateful this this is a seriously sour taste and everybodys mouth now to the point that it became booing you know bethesda did it right when they announced what was it fallout shelter they did it not on its own right they did it alongside another fallout title its like wow were getting this awesome epic new fallout game plus on the side weve got fallout shelters so its cool its kind of like a little companion you know for our main game they didnt announce that alone and they didnt announce it after a long drought of content but thats whats happening and thats the big difference here between these mobile games right high blues announced uh a diablo to remaster diablo for a diablo 3 expansion pack you know or something then it would have been less drama for sure less insulting and dont even get me started on the the comment by wyatt dont you guys have phones or whatever ii said you know to to the crowd in a very panicky way because thats that thats just as bad if not worse than boshy oaken is arent you thankful rhetoric right like its just man i lost a lot of respect for wyatt after that comment otherwise i think hes a good guy most the time and is doing pretty well with what he has left of a diablo team now were not grateful im sorry but we know what kind of game this is gonna be what kind of game diablo immortal is gonna be what kind of experience we can expect to have on this device which isnt gonna feel nearly as good as a pc or console game and worse i think we know what we can expect from monetization as well this will more than likely not just be a one-time pay and then you play it game like you normally get from diablo no it may very well be and well see just how bad the monetization is for this game how much they try and nickel and dime us for things like potions right or maybe extra uses out of the hegira cube or something like that right thats our thats our biggest fear there are good people at blizzard there are good people on the on the diablo team brandi campbell wyatt chang i still believe in these these people as representatives and as directors more or less of whats going on in diablo right now you know im not angry at these people or the regular grunts doing their job and the modeling and texturing at games or whatever no no its its not i dont think its their fault and i dont i dont its annoying but then i died i cant hate wyatt for being told yeah youre gonna get on stage and youre gonna hype people up for this mobile game whether he likes it or not no im im mad at whoever is calling the shots whoevers pulling it wyatt strings right but the people will maybe behind that person in the shadows who makes the decisions on what gets funding at blizzard and what doesnt based on market research you see what im saying cuz thats whats really going on here right and ive seen that for years and that was that was to me when i saw that perspective to go back to talking about perspectives and reasoning and stuff like that i really felt like that that was what was really going on here blizzard is just not convinced that diablo is as profitable as their other games like world of warcraft like hearthstone which god knows you know how much they make every day off of her stone packs and expansions you know for example but you know like the recent single-player star wars game that was scrapped you know diablo has seemingly been deemed not profitable enough and therefore not worthy of investment its not as flashy competitive has mobas and stuff like that you know to to be in the spotlight of an esports game or whatever which undeniably brings in huge amounts of money to companies when theyre able to pull off these events and get people will hyped up for stuff like that they cant do that with diablo and they know we wont tolerate lube boxes which lately has been getting some backlash thing thank god for that a bit late but finally there is backlash on loot boxes but a mobile game mobile games are still safe arent they like we can criticize them but were well were just elitists right were pc and console elitists were just picking on the little guy right i guess you know we can be discredited we can be dismissed you know when we criticize mobile games you know it meanwhile mobile games are more and more growing in popularity right and there is a sea of diablo clones on the mobile market you think activision and blizzard wants a piece of that pie better believe they do so theyre gonna make their own clone where actually theyre not gonna make it net ease like right lets clarify that lets pay attention to that because blizzard isnt doing it its neddys that theyve given permission and the rights to do this to make another clone one clone to rule them all with the name diablo in it all right its gonna be made by another company while activision blizzard gets a nice cut of the money from the transactions whatever thats gonna be i guess thats just just profitable enough looking right just enticing enough for for them to go ahead and do that all this and more i could say to explain the diablo drama were not entitled were flocking starved and have left in droves to other arpgs to try and find a replacement trying to find something that can help us recapture the feeling of the darkness and the edge and the fun and the story experience that a diablo game brings and some of them have been able to do that yeah some of these companies have been doing damn good at replicating that that feeling like path of exile and the upcoming for now korea and only lost ark right we start paying attention to these games start playing a little bit of grim done and what you know while we wait you know were thinking while we wait well play this and well wait for the next yellow game now we turn around it here another blizzcon what do we see blizzard on stage selling the corpse of the once great king of a rpgs a popular comet that keeps apparently getting deleted and is now spammed constantly on social media especially the diablo immortal trailers says quote no king rules forever my son a quote of course from the world of warcraft cinematic of the fall of arthas cole continues i enjoyed my 20-plus years playing blizzard games but it seems now is the time to admit the soul is gone end quote i guess thats the truth of it yeah once great king of a rpgs that reign is over i guess its been over for a long time some of us still lingering as fans wanted to believe that the king could come back reclaim the throne what do we find we find it which is reclaiming the lowest level of gaming mobile platform its pretty sad actually its really sad and thats the way it is i guess until they find a way to make diablo profitable enough i guess this is the way things are but i guess the silver lining in this is that it gives other companies a chance to to fill in that void that empty space of people that want to see more a rpg action we got path of exile obviously doing very good like i said over in korea lost ark is about to hole man they are about to kick off the most incredible a rpg inspired game isometric camera ive ever seen blizzard youve got a tough fight ahead of you if you do plan i know you got multiple projects for the diablo universe not just diablo immortal but you got ho you got a lot of fight on your hands and you got a lot of work now especially in trying to win us back and trying to help us forget the taste of this betrayal of announcing another outsource companys game with the diablo name on it i wont soon forget in fact i might remember it even more clearly or as clearly at least when that time comes when you finally do decide to make a new diablo game and presented to us well see how grateful we [..] oh good afternoon everybody now last night that was really tough on diablo immortal any my eyes rightly so but im a really critical person thats my thing thats my stick im sure the rest of the down-low community however have been very lenient with it oh my god hi everybody eats as here from hell vs babyface now last night i brought you a video about my personal reaction to the diablo immortal announcement on mobile you got phone i thought it was terrible in short im paraphrasing her video but go check it out i thought it was terrible i thought its laughable i honest to god thought its a joke when he first said it on screen i thought oh hes kidding now hes gonna do the proper reveal whatever it may be and lets just say it was met by the community with well i [laughter] think the skit at the beginning of the video just showed everything the two hundred thousand down votes to the what six thousand up votes thats like a 97% disapproval rating people do not like now since then and the purpose of this video is theres been more things which have come out which have been sent to community even further and im gonna go through them bit by bit now first of all after the opening ceremony to the olympic blizzcon 2018 they had a whats next for diablo where all they spoke about was diablo immortal ive now watched that this morning completely and ive gone through all the q&a and lets just say the q&a was rough really really rough now when they would came up on stage they gave this field there was wyatt cheng he had a couple of developers with him they had their speaker you know filled to go through not a single sound from the audience none no reaction to anything no reaction to their jokes their silliness their banter nothing the crowd went mild there was just they just did not they did not look like they care they i think were waiting for what was going to be the star of the show the qa and when the qa arrived holi did it go completely off here now you may have seen and we will see in a second two of the big questions and the response more importantly by blizzard on this and this is what i want to talk about because there have been a few people whove been coming out defending blizzard about diablo immortals saying its not its not the developers fold its not the developers fault they just told to do it theyre just doing their jobs first and foremost i havent seen a single person make a personal attack not one i am not seeing anybody having personal attacks against wyatt chang at all peoples anger is directed at the correct source in my opinion which is the nature of the game a mobile regressive diablo beloved franchise game nobodys making personal attacks but while were on the subject of this and defending blizzard absolutely not these people know what theyre doing these people are not innocent princesses theyre not small forms which have just come out of their mothers value and are taking their first tentative steps in life what is this what is this online world i seen yeah these are grown men and women that know exactly what theyre doing they are well paid for it and if theyre sent out to face the lions they are doing their job this is why we have customer service in the world because thats what their pay to do its their job you dont phone up a complaints division of a company and the person on the other end of line says hey look its not me i i didnt make this product dont have a go at me i didnt do this its the its the higher-ups in the company that wont take your call but dont have a go at me thats their job thats what theyre paid for it comes with the praise and it comes with the criticism and if you take the praise you have to take the criticism so there is no defense here you lie down with dogs you get fleas and thats as simple as that so you want to defend this nonsense you defend this nonsense i dont care if these are wonderful lovely people nobody nobody is having a go at that peoples anger is very specific its the nature of the product so lets now get on to the comedy aspect which was the q&a and it started off hard because i think the diablo 2 community were expecting two announcements or hoping there be two announcements possibly a diablo 2 remake possibly but i think most of them from the diablo community people that ive been speaking to were expecting druids to be announced for diablo 3 so the first question was where the druids well here are the druids thats which there was no response there was no answer it doesnt look like theyre being worked on by the sounds of what was going on on stage well its about a vote you know i would vote for dreads i play druid in wow well i i you know i would prefer a witch doctor it doesnt even look like jurors in development people so im really sorry if thats your thing next question whens this going to be ready dont know itll be ready when its ready and before that guy left a microphone he managed to quickly get in and go on a typical blizzard response so the announcing diablo mortal the great new mobile phone progressive game and no no no no no no time at all thats god knows and then a really big question came along how is the production of diablo immortal affecting other diablo projects which are being worked upon great question and why it chang said no response were working on other stuff but no response there was nothing that they said there were they were not satisfying the answers and people were getting more and more agitated and then this question happened this guy steps up on stage and says a perfectly legitimate question and just listen to the response and the response is another reason why i have goose egg goose egg sympathy for the development team right here so lets just listen to what he says ice curious i see a lot of mechanics that we kind of been begging for in diablo 3 in this is there any plans to make this playable on pc or is this strictly mobile forever are there any yeah this the that question do you not have a phone this may want this mase look like the future of money to companies but is this the future of gaming no no a five and a half inch screen where youre trying to turn and twiddle and no this right here in front of me this pc layout this is in some way or form always gonna have a massive massive form when it comes to gaming people want to be sat down relaxed they want to have great functionality tools like keyboards and mouse and joy pads for some people as well people dont want to be squinting squinting on a five and a half inch screen pushing stuff with finicky controls with their flock pingas excuse my french and so when the person asks a perfectly legitimate question in a very passive manner he was he was on his back with his belly exposed with his paws in the air saying oh my body languages is is as submissive as theyre gonna come and your responses are you got found absolutely no sympathy whatsoever and that is the attitude of blizzard right there in a nutshell and so after this which got my ira oh did it get my arab somebody step forward some say his name is actually duke nukem because this guy has got balls of steel just was wondering is this an out of season april fools joke mic drop [music] is this an out of season april fools joke and you know why he asked that question because it sounds like one hes he yeah is he being sarcastic yeah hes he being condescending yeah but you know what hes also being very truthful and hes saying what a lot of people are very likely thinking and you can tell that from the response that he got from the actual audience itself when he said that they is stunned silence because people are absolutely gobsmacked by what theyre seeing with this announcement this is only the future of gaming to companies that want to make a ton of money in microtransactions this isnt the future of gaming when it comes to a true gamer not at all absolute nonsense and so what they said was perfectly perfectly legitimate and if that takes the people on stage off guard again i got no sympathy if youre coming out with a project like this then you better be prepared if you came out on stage expecting everybody and this is the problem with the circle-jerk which goes on in blizzard and the community if youre expecting that because its blizzcon everybody is gonna cheer and love you and everythings gonna be roses and deuces and aces and all that – as if you come out with a product like this that takes a beloved franchise and essentially craps all over it so you can make a quick buck and well get to that very soon indeed again you have to accept the consequences now when it came to other questions just nothing will it will it be hard chord mode no will there be other difficulties extreme mode all these insane mode whatever its called in diablo we dont know why dont they know because mobile gaming isnt set up for this kind of player this isnt why people game thats why they need the functionality of their keyboards in their mice and their tools and their pads and stuff like that because things like this arent conducive the reason why they said theres probably no hardcore mode what if you get a disconnection on your phone and you lose your character you know its way more easy way way way more easy that youre gonna get disconnected on a mobile device than you are at home with a wide connection way more the only reason youre gonna get disconnected with a wire connection is if something intrinsically goes wrong at the backend of whichever your isp is but with this black spots you know dips all over the place so mobile gaming isnt the future because it has too many limitations its a limitation on what modes you can play theres limitations what difficulties that you can play and one question which was not asked whether it is filtered i dont know but it certainly wasnt addressed was what is the pay model of this game going to be and before anyone of you think well they probably havent got around to think about that as know i speak to a lot of game developers and there are a lot which ive spoken to who are pretty deal it disillusioned with the industry and one thing that i hear off them is whenever it comes to creating a new game and youre sat down and youre just ready for the first picture of ideas going back and forth pretty much the first question which ever gets asked now in todays current genre of gaming is how do we monetize this product and i very much doubt that diablo immortal is any different i think that was one of the first questions if not the first question that was asked when it came to the concept and a construction of this game on mobile how do we monetize so theyve got pretty much an idea about what theyre gonna do in terms of microtransactions and monetary things whether or not they switch things up based off feedback i dont know but lets just say the qa was a complete and utter disaster for them now lets just look at some gameplay from diablo immortal and im picking out something very specific here this is the barbarian so here they go the barbarian going in do look at this look at this look at that okay now lets just jump to something else this is a game called endless gods it says endless of the gods endless gods by netties thats the same company thats making the news and lets just have a look at some of the footage from this game shall we each cut oh oh oh oh oh wait that that looked that looked identical to the barbarian huh isnt that weird now let me just shift the image here lets just have a look at this sir you i outlay here on the right hand side of this screen here we go sever have a look at that now lets bring back the the diablo video and lets just jump to the oh oh lets just jump to the oh wait a minute this is the exact same ui as well so the same company thats making diablo immortal that made endless gods is using the same animations is using the same layout this is a reskin of an existing mobile game by netties now this was approached wyatt chang was approached by ign reputable ign im sorry this video shouldnt have jokes in it he they were they approached and they asked him because i think they wanted to address this saying that chang responded to claims that diablo immortal may be a reskin by saying the following weve been working with netties games from the beginning as a partnership to create everything in diablo immortal ok we have artists on our side they have artists on their side and we work together as a team as a partnership to create everything about diablo immortal the environments the characters the skills the story well thats not what it looks like here i mean sure youve got artists which are gonna make it look like a diablo game you have story board its who are gonna create the cutscenes for a diablo story and you have the environment teams to create your environments but the skills looked identical the playstyle looks identical theyre taking an identical model for an existing game to make your new and progressive and the future of gaming is mobile diablo immortal what an absolute crock of sh1te and then folks then comes the final thing you see blizzard throughout the whole course of blizzcon theyve said how much they love the fans how much theyre listening to the fans this already shows a complete lack of listening understanding of a community is this a remake of diablo 2 to bring it into the modern age a beloved beloved game diablo 2 when i was younger diablo 2 when you said those words it was as if you were saying the mecca of gaming that is how revered diablo 2 is you hear these stories about how items would sell on ebay and stuff from diablo 2 for ridiculous money because of how much they were sought after and how beloved the game was yeah all these amazing things so you have people hoping maybe that theyre do that thats what the community was hoping no okay all right fair enough youve got other things maybe youre you are looking to the future and not into the past maybe diablo 2 is habits day then maybe you are looking forward so what about the current product at least add druids bringing druids bringing a new class to diablo 3 no no no no there this is what the community has been asking for wanting blizzard arent listening theyre not listening because they they dont care they have their agenda its their agenda its the beat of their drum that they go towards but heres the coup de gras blizzard listen to your feedback so much they respect your feedback so much theyre in the comment section for the diablo immortal reveal video the one that has six thousand likes and two hundred thousand dislikes theyve been removed critical comments from the chat and im not talking people go ah dont grow yourself im talking about legitimate concerns that people have legitimate disappointments that people have any critical comment that gets up voted is pulled down nyx iam had a just a regular post weve had some good news about wow weve had some good news about hearthstone some good news about heroes of the storm i have never heard that game no this is really disappointing this leaves a bad taste in the mouth mobile isnt the future of game legitimate concerns comment gone loads of comments just getting deleted deleted deleted if they repost them deleted if they somebody else repost them deleted that is how much they care about your feedback that is how much they are listening to your feedback they are deleting your comments and your criticisms so diablo immortal isnt just a joke it isnt just a disappointment it is such an egregious reskin phony of a game that is designed for nothing more than to exploit a franchises great name and to exploit a community that is surrounding that because they think hey if we stick diabolo on a mobile device then it will take the demote diablo community to that mobile device and to those microtransactions theres a an old saying and im an old guy theres an old saying that i want to leave this video with you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink and the diablo 2 community they dont want to drink anything at all
